Well, as we are all aware hay prices are quite high and stocks are low. My grass, although growing slightly now, isn't as 'green' as I would like, particually for old Juno who has never looked so poor, sorry old gal! So, I've been feeding hay/haylege mix just for her benefit really as Penny needs none and Meg is ok although wants it. Trouble was, I was running out fast, (half a bale left) so asked lovely kind farmer man to see if he had any left. He said he would have a look for me. So, ever hopeful I waited, til tonight! He turns up with 1 HUGE ROUND bale, appologises for not having any small bales left. Well, 1 round bale was far better than having nothing, but a devil to 'use'! Farmer is so kind though, he did give it to us for only £10 so I feel I can't grumble AT ALL!!!
Nice kind people really make my day. x

Good people are priceless!

Our local farmer gave us his last 4 bales. He's now giving his cows straw.....

We put our order in before autumn and had it delivered then had a surprise extra 4 horses to feed after the end of November. The amazing man turned up with 9 HUGE bales and, when that ran out, gave us his last 4.
Top chap!!!

i also have a good farmer who supplies damn fine hay an straw at damn fine prices - so want to go on his yard of 9 an 1/2 horses lol but he goes beyond that - facing having my mare pts he was prepared to come to my yard ,collect and bury her on his land just cause he knows i love my mare- no horses leave his yard when dead they are buried by him nd he knows the names of all buried in the field god love that man he is a farmer who just understands horsey ppl :)

This made me smile, I love hearing how generous and utterly selfless people can be. You hear of so many horrible people. When you think about it though, we shouldn't be surprised when people are nice because they should already be nice anyway! :D

*whispers....our guy has a load left.... but don't tell anyone!*

Same here.... I think there must be fewer horses and more grass per sq mile round this way Jen!

So sweet about the farmer who buries the horses. We have always done the same but is it still legal though? Or is it ok as long as they are classed as pets? I would hate that lovely guy to get into trouble for it!!
