We had our saddler out to our new horse today (had an excruciating 4 week wait). Anyhoo surprisingly the new wintec that my big D had purchased for her cob Al as an every day saddle just 2 months before she died fitted with a little adjustment and a one size narrower gullet.

Saddler thinks he will change a lot in the next 2/3 years so recommended sticking with the wintec for know, but thinks it might be possible once his changes slow down to adjust/alter the head on Al's best leather show saddle too as she knows its history.

So much for the dealer saying he was a medium!

If I forget about the call out/fitting fee (which is horrendous because she is not Norfolk based) we paid £17.99 - bargain.

I'm glad it's all going well for you both :) Love saddles with history as well- Al had a pony who had to be PTS with a fractured shoulder and so her saddle was sold on. 3 years later, she started riding a pony for someone else. She was untacking that pony, and realised it was her old pony's saddle. I think that made that pony even more special to her :)
