Just Had the Most Unhelpful Conversation with a Supplier

Hi, usually just browse, but wondered if anyone else has been really p**d off by the attitude of some suppliers of goods, ie the owner of the company. I ordered some items off a website two months ago and have been trying to get them to give me information on the status of the order for at least a month. Several e-mails later with no real information coming through I decided to phone for some help. Well, I have met and dealt with some ignorant people in my time but felt like I was the one who had'nt kept their end of the deal and now feel totally at loss as to what to do next. Every time I tried to pass on the required information I was told not to "talk over" the rude woman. I felt likeI was still at school. I can understand if they are having problems with supplying goods, but to be contradicted at every word of the conversation does'nt make for good business or customer service. Sorry rant over. At least I can go and cuddle my boys ( two geldings) soon. They never talk back.
 
can you cancel your order ?

Folk like this only take notice when they dont do well.... but it sounds a bit like they are having issues.... i wonder if they are teatring on the brink ?
 
I have just had similar experience. The good arrived in the end and I didn't even mind that they took so long, it was just that I wanted to be kept informed, ie not just have the money dissapear and then ..... nothing.

So all sympathies it just makes life unneccessarily complicated. It isn't for Breeches is it???
 
We have just had the same sort of problem and the customer service (or that should be lack of) she hung up on me. So I rang back and spoke to very nice lady on the switch board and asked can you help me please I need to write a letter to head of customer services and would very much like to address the letter to a person. She gave me the name of Mr xxx and I wrote a formal letter with help from OH who is great with words being in the army he can put things in a great way and oh boy it worked goods arrived about two days later with a few extras pluss letter from Mr xxx saying it was not the sort of experience he wished his customers to have and the member of staff ( who unluckily for her I had written down her name date and time of call) has been for retraining! Good luck hope you get your goods soon.
 
Thanks for all your replies. Unfortunately the person I spoke to is the proprietor of the company and she was so rude I don't feel like phoning her again. The order is apparently already cancelled and the money to be credited to my account and that is why I phoned trying to find out how long the credit would take. The e-mail stating a credit was to come was dated 28th November. I am going to give it until after christmas and then send a letter requesting the money back. If this doesnt work I will take the company to the small claims court.
 
I do find asking for the name of the person Im talking to can concentrate their mind somewhat.....

Actually I asked for her name which I already had and when she was so rude I asked to speak to her superior, that is when she said she was the proprietor. Poor show really.

No not for breeches, a gel pad that apparently was coming over from the states. I have now purchased another pad but obviously had to spend the money again. If they can't supply items and are polite about it I usually go back to the company for something else in its place, but this company will never see any more of my money.
 
Unfortunately wuith the economic situatuion I can only see this sort of thing gettibng worse.

Why? Surely the economic situation puts a premium on excellent customer service as companies want to keep their clients happy and should be bending over backwards to help them.
 
Hmmm currently fighting with a supplier, hon horsey, who has £1250 of my money and is still lieing to me and its a horrid situation & Im about to start court proceedings but dont think I will get anywhere as I now know he lots of ccjs on him. Ruining my Christmas. I run my own business and have never let anyone down yet noone gives a sh×t these days,
