Of course I am worrying again. Just tried to take Robin for a hack. 3 others, plan was just a walk hack round the village. First odd thing, I got on and had to wait for everyone else. He didn’t budge and just stood. Set off and front shoes clinking. Hhhmmm what to do. He normally marches out but he really wasn’t keen. We were in front side by side to a 14.2 and normally he would be off in front but he wanted to slot in behind. It was muggy, there were a lot of flies. Got to bottom of hill (So 5 mins away from yard) and turned and came home. He just plodded back up the hill. No spooking, no marching. All a bit odd.
Back into stable and immediately started eating his hay. He felt warm to touch, took temp and normal. He ate his tea but as he finished he did a very funny move. He sort of took the position a mare does to pee. Held it for a couple of seconds then carried on eating.
I watched him for a while and acting normally. I have left him in for a couple of hours and will go back shortly to turn out.
Can slightly clinking shoes make them feel a bit off? Left front is very very slightly loose. Farrier coming tomorrow. It’s not like him to have a can’t be bothered day, mostly he is very enthusiastic about everything.
