I was with SEIB and they only required a vets cert for insurance above £5k. On a slightly separate note though, be very careful of the small print of these policies ! As most people on here know I showjump....not to a tremendously high level, but high enough. Anyway, the categories of insurance were A & B - A being general use including showjumping and the like, and B being A plus eventing and some of the other higher risk disciplines. Anyway, when the small print came through, it turned out that the category that included showjumping in fact ONLY covered showjumping up to Foxhunter level
Now there are many people on here who compete above that, so just be aware that your policy may not actually cover you in the way you think it does
