I have to say I was very very pleased at this news. It is a wonderful place and has remained exactly the same, warm and welcoming place over the past 2 1/2 years I have kept my horses there as it was the first day I arrived. Mike and Emma are able to treat everyone as individuals which cannot be said for many places of this size.

I have to add as well that when I thought I would have to leave post sale, I contacted Springfall Stud in West Sussex/Surrey and they were wonderfully friendly also. So anyone down that way may want to pay them a call

I am just relieved my mares can stay at Quainton and have their foals, I don't trust many with my horses but I 100% trust Vanessa and her team to take care of them and foal them down. I heartily recommend them for other breeders without their own premises

Thank you Breeze mum glad you agree! ....where else can you horses be looked after so well ....foaled , put into foal ....even if you choose a stallion which does not stand there and have your foals grow up in the most natural way possible... and yes definate credit to the stud owners, Vanessa and the team.

I totally agree! Vanessa is fantastic and as a result my mare gave birth to a fabulous Quirifino foal! She is now in foal to Stallone!
Quainton Stud is refreshingly professional, as are all the team!

One of my mares is in foal to Stallone, his foals are wonderful and just my type. I have one in foal to Chateau too, she was in foal when I bought her from Emma, if she had not been I would have put her to Lancelot I think.
Good luck with your baby, will she be foaling down at Quainton?

We visited last year to see Chadron and Chateau .... fantastic set-up, and Vanessa was a brilliant guide. Everything about the place was just knock-out, and the rider who showed us Chadron and Chateau was also outstanding, obviously in total sympathy with the horses. We loved Chadron, and were very sad to hear that he has been gelded - wondered why, as he had one of the best temperaments I've ever come across in a stallion, and the rider seemed to adore him. Its the only stud that I've seen in the UK which can rival the best that we've visited and seen pics of on the continent .... So great news that they are not selling up .....

Wasnt a thread exactly the same as this deleted from the breeding forum last week for advertising.
Anyway there are many many studs in England who deliver just as good a service as this .

I absolutely agree with you, there are. However, the fact that this one is not closing is actually good news to a lot of breeders, particularly ones like myself who keep my horses there and do not have my own land.

I do not consider this advertising, we are commenting on how good the stallions are, same as many other posts of similar type. I have seen first hand the offspring on a yearly basis at Quainton, not only from their own stallions I might add.

However, when you have a horse in foal to a particular stallion I do not see it as advertising to comment on the other offspring you have seen from same stallion.

I am sorry if you disagree but I hope that Admin can see the difference. Perhaps you would like to start a thread in relation to the studs you have personal experience of. After all, it is a good thing to know what is out there first hand is it not?

Yes my baby will be foaling there, in fact my other baby is still there, as it's such a fantastic environment for them seems silly to take him away, hence why I too am thrilled they've decided not to sell!
Can't wait for the next arrival, I am thrilled with the Quirifino foal, however by all accounts he is a bit of a handful, so that should be interesting when I finally bring him home!

If you re read my post what i said was.
Wasnt there a post the same as this in the Breeding forum the other day that was taken down as it was advertising.
Its just odd that it then pops up in Latest News having been taken down from the other forum when it read pretty much the same .
I didnt say it was advertising i was merely making a point that we had seen very similar post elsewhere.
I wont name studs as we are a stud ourselves based just outside Newmarket and if you drive round here you will see one beautiful stud after another who all do the same wonderful job.

Yours is certainly beautiful and I loved the video of your babies playing

Unfortunately, we are not so lucky round here and studs are few and far between. When I was looking for somewhere suitable for my 2 yearlings 2 1/2 years ago I could find nothing advertised at all and I searched high and low and asked around. Eventually I found this one. I have seen more since and as I said previously I was very impressed with the response I got from Springfalls Stud when I thought I would have to move.
I have no financial gain to make from Quainton, I am a livery there, nothing more. I am afraid I was away from horses for a long time due to circumstances out of my control (no money

) and I do get very passionate and excited when talking about them. I only managed to buy my first aged 40!
Quainton is mentioned as that is where I keep them, if I kept them at home the property would get no mention in all likelihood.
I talked of the stallions with Tammy yesterday, I believe, in no other way than two breeders who are excited by their 2009 prospects. I have discussed other stallions with other breeders on here previously (non Quainton ones).
I didn't start the post but if I had, it would most likely have been asking others about the facilities they have and what makes something special for them when they cannot keep their babies at home.
For me, I really could not face a forced move away simply because I lost my beautiful Oldenburg baby there at 22 months of age and I feel him there when I see my other horses. Oh, I am sure he would have come with us but it gives me a sense of peace

When you asked if one the "same" was removed for advertising, it probably was, but I felt that this particular post was then taken over by Tammy and I discussing horses rather than providing an advert.
The wonderful thing about this forum is if I need a stud now all I have to do is post and I would have lots of options from wonderful people pmmed to me. The knowledge base here is wonderful and I have learnt so much just from reading all your posts.

PMSL yeah very similar, commented on by the same people. funny that. and you have to ask why this isnt in the breeding forum as well.
and i have been to Quainton by the way and it is nice but there are plenty of other places, as groomsbridge says that do as well. possibly thy could all get round the advertising rules on the forum by some 'latest news' type posts also.
