Ok & breath............

So Horserugs4u are just about the very worst company i have ever dealt with. I ordered rugs on the 3rd Sep & they didnt arrive despite my credit card being debited.

So cue phone calls lots of them, eventually im told they have one of the rugs & would dispatch, but the other is not in stock. Despite there website saying that they have X amount in stock.

Also there website does say that they will contact you in the event of your purchased item not being in stock. DO NOT BELIEVE A WORD THATS WRITTEN!!!

So i ask for a refund on the rug thats not in stock, that was on the 18th Sep

. As of this morning & lots of calls later i have still not recieved my refund

Despite the fact that they should never of taken the money in the first place as the goods where not ready for dispatch. So effectively they are stealing.

I have this morning theatend them with Trading standards & my credit card company & have given them till tomorrow morning before i take action as there accountant is not in. I wonder why he's not in, probably off sunning himself in the Bahamas with all the money there not refunding.

Search their company name on the forum you'll find lots of similar stories. Definitely a company to avoid. Hope you get your money back ASAP!

It's very frustrating when they appear to have the items in stock, take your money and then 'forget' to tell you they don't have the items!

Your credit card company should be able to refund you the money if you dispute the charge, but I completely agree that this is besides the point! You should not have to spend time and effort dealing with this!

Good to know this company is crap!

It is Frustrating Booboo's as im having to waste my time dealing with it.

Im annoyed at myself as im so careful when i buy online, but there flyer was in my last BHS mag so i stupidly thought they would be ok. Lesson learned.

Teddyt - i buy a lot from local tackshops however none of my local tackshops sell decent rugs

. So i have no option but to source from other places.

I've found Rideaway to be very good. They have a 'live' ordering system so they have actual numbers of items in stock, very competitive prices (and some excellent bargains in the sales) and they dispatch really quickly.

I had an almost identical problem and argument with them. That must have been at least 4 years ago now, because the ponies I was buying for have been dead for 3 1/2 years.

Eventually I got my rugs, but it took nearly 6 months if I remember rightly.

Very irritating for you and good luck.

The word really needs to get around about these people.

Unbeliveable that this company are still getting away with this, i think i should show this thread to trading standards.

Thanks for the recommendation for rideaway also guys as i do still need another couple of rugs, however i can't buy atm do to Horserugs4u still having my money.

I waited 5 months once for rugs that I had ordered and by that time had completely misssed the season they were bought for (winter) eventually they arrived but one was the wrong size, I gave up and sold them both on e bay and luckily covered my costs.
I did phone them a few times but my reguests fell on deaf ears and I was too busy to follow it up even more than I already had!

Wasn't there a Horserugs2u catalogue in with last weeks H&H? Or maybe the week before? I get my H&H delivered, and I'm sure it was in with it.
I've already chucked it in the bin!

I had very similar problems with this company. Eventually got a refund, but only after I threatened legal action. Have stuck with local tack shop ever since.

I had the same problem two years ago and haven't used them since. I get nearly all mine from Cybercheckout. They are fab and delivery supafast.

P+P is free too.

Have never touched them as they seem disoinest or something.Gut feeling. Looks like I was right. Glad the money is back in your account.

I brought up the fact that they shouldn't be taking my money until despatch and was assured it was a system that would change shortly.

At one time I had about 4 different phone numbers for them that I acquired and only one was ever answered.

I was disappointed to see them at YHL tbh, perhaps YH don't know of their reputation.

I have also had problems with HorseRugs4U and would never deal with them again.
They took the money from my account but didn't send the rug. I waited about 4 weeks before trying to phone. I held for over 20 mins on 3 different occasions but no reply. I emailed, no reply. At last they answered and said the rug would be another week. After that week I phoned again and they said yet another week. I said I wanted a refund and they agreed but then it took numerous attempts to phone and eventually threats before I finally got my money back many weeks later.

They, like E&L, pay to advertise in the mags and for Trade Stands at shows. The accounts people involved don't turn down money like this.

I too have just been conned by this company. I have never heard of anyone charging the credit card before items are dispatched. The rugs I ordered were in stock on the website which was what prompted me to order. I have had several calls to Sandra who assures me the company is stable but having read all this on the forum I have called and left a message that if my card is not refunded to day I will be calling Trading Standards and involve the police as I believe this is a fraud.

I highly recommend Speedgate Direct and, no, I don't work for them, I'm in Somerset and they're in Kent. Ordered a stable rug on Tuesday and it arrived this morning, and because my order was over £60, postage was free. I always use them if I can.

I too have had problems with this company despite doing so much research before trusting this company. The best bit is the level of communication between them and their customers - or should I say lack of communication (other than telling you that your order has not been received from their suppliers!).

I have tried phoning the number on their website, when I finally found it, and got a recorded message that all their operators were busy - yeah right!

I have sent various emails enquiring about when I would be receiving my order and nothing!

They took the money from my account within 3 days of me placing the order despite their website clearly stating "We do not charge for any item until it is ready to ship. Backordered items are not charged until they are shipped. If you do not wish to pay online, you may send your card information via phone, fax or by post." I have asked for an explanation as to why they have taken payment when they quite obviously do not have the goods in stock - have a sneaky suspicion that I won't be getting an answer to this!

After a bit of digging around I found that they are a trading name for Cam Equestrian and on that website I found a different phone number! My OH called them last night, expressed his anger and frustration and said that if he didn't receive a call from them this morning he would drive over to them (thankfully we are relatively close to them - but I believe he would have driven 3 to 4 hours to get our money back as they have angered him that much!). Guess what? he got a call at about 10am this morning - no apology or anything just excuses that the 2 products I had ordered were not with them. He demanded a refund and was promised that the lady he spoke to was going to do it immediately - we shall wait and see. I will let you know the outcome!

It was amazing what a threat of coming round in person does!! I didn't spend that much - but it is now the principle of the thing and yes, I can get the money back from our credit card provider but my OH thinks that this is how they operate - take money with no intention to supply, make contacting them as difficult as possible in the hope that the customer will forget it.

I told them that I wouldn't be recommending them to anyone so please, please, anyone reading this thread DO NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM EITHER HORSERUGS4U OR CAM EQUESTRIAN they are not reliable, professional.... I could go on! They have infuriated me at their complete incompetence!!

Fingers crossed that I get my money back! I am going to stick to the suppliers that I know and will never try a new company again (without checking on this forum first anyway!).

Sorry for long rant but they have really got to me!!!

I've never dealt with them but found returning an item with equestrian clearance really easy. They emailed me to keep me updated so would definately recommend.

I thought everyone knew Rugs4U were a don't touch with a barge pole company. I'm fairly certain Trading Standards will have had previous dealings with them and have a vague feeling they were on watchdog some years back. H&H also carry their flyers, like most mags they don't care where the advertising fee comes from which is why this thread will probably disappear in a puff of smoke.

My experience with them was actually good, ordered some rugs a couple of years ago and got them within a few days. Have to admit being a little hesitant about ordering from them, but as the rugs were quite a bit cheaper than anywhere else, I decided to risk it.
I do dislike company's that take the money from your card before they are able to dispatch the goods though.
