We have 4 sons (under 15)......
Conversation......

"Right boys, let me give you some important advice. You see a nice girl you fancy and want to ask out? First question you ask 'em before going ahead, "Do you like horses?" If they nod. RUN!"

:D:D:D

It might have had something to do with the pallet load of wood pellets he's just had to individually and singly unload from the back of the delivery lorry and hump up to the house cos the lorry couldn't get close enough. Woops :o

Trust me I know!

I expected OH to be at work today and had hoped delivery would arrive a bit later in the day. I honestly didn't plan it this way! Honest!!! :p

lol! Pitched battle in our house atm as OH (farrier) tries to stop small son from following the same career path and I do my utmost to encourage him :D We often get the "never marry a horsey woman" comments as he wanders off to his shed ;)

Hahaha. Love it:D

Although my son who is non horsey and just about to turn 12 has other ideas.

He sees the amount of money we spend on the horses, and reckons that if he finds a girl who has horses, she will be 'loaded' as well looking good in a pair of jodphurs !!

He has a lot to learn !

See...I tell my single male friends that if they are after an independent sports loving female they should go to some local yards or shows. I don't point the time and money constraints that also come with said interests.

Reminds me a conversation with a new boyfriend when he was trying to lay down ground rules...

" I play cricket in the summer, both days"

Me " excellent!"

Suspicious boyfriend

" and rugby in the winter"

Me " even better!" then asked quickly ". You don't expect me to come and watch every weekend do you?!"

Oh the bliss of an OH who would happily wave me off at weekends without trying to put a time on me and didn't expect me straight back after work....perfect!

i live in the wild hills of west wales with OH and 3 cobs, own land. I introduced my 7 year old grand daughter to the joys of horse riding. Her father is not impressed (city boy from London). Kitting out a 7 year old and paying for lessons in london is a bit different to plodding around the fields in wales! oops. but she`s got the bug now and wont let Daddy off. lol

Lol, I'm expecting a little girl and hubby is scared she's going to get into horses. I'd rather she liked horses than boys but I doubt Il have any control in that!

When I first had my little boy my OH would bring him to shows to watch me but would often mutter 'its all girls, no son of mine is riding ponies'. That was until one day when there was a fantastic young lad, of about 10 years old, competing - he was surrounded by pretty girls on ponies and was the centre of attention.

We now own a pony :D :D
