Is there such thing as a short term loan? I've got GCSEs looming fast, and I won't be able to compete/have fun on Chloe as much as I'd like. It would be about 4months, till late June, when I'd finish all my exams/school. I don't particularly want to advertise her for short term loan, because it would be hard to explain in one advert what the deal was. Or do you think this would be the way forwards. I wish I didn't have exams - otherwise I would probably start going to some slightly more exciting parties!
Has anyone had personal experience from this sort of arrangement? I know it's unusual, but what are all your thoughts? If it was to work, how would we go about it cost wise? Any advice, or comments much appreciated.
 
How about trying to find someone to ride her for you while you are bury? I hope there is such a thing as a short term loan, I would love one for 4 months over the summer hols, but I don't think that's very likely somehow!
 
Perhaps you could share her so you could still ride her and keep an eye on how she is. If not I am sure you will find someone eager to loan her in the short-term.
 
Well, I have got a lovely girl who rides her during the week, and I ride her at weekends. But that won't work over the coming months. I'm actually looking for another yard for various reasons, so thought I would just put some ideas out. I'm very happy for anyone experienced wanting a fun horse over a few months to compete/hare around on to come and try her.

It's easier said than done, because I'm in London and my horse is in Surrey - I probably wouldn't have to think about this option if I had her on DIY. but travel time does add up - it's a 5 hour round trip (there, riding and faffing, back) for a day. I'm sure it's unlikely - but I will keep my eyes open for someone. I might pop a thingy in my signature.
 
I'm sure it is possible, there must be a pony mad kid who doesn't yet have their own pony who'd love one even if it is only short term. Odd because i was wondering the same thing from the other point of view, my horse has been lame for the last 4 months so i am half looking for a loan but wouldn't be able to do more than 6 months. I wasn't sure many people would be interesting in a very short term thing lol

I loaned my horse out for the last 3 months of my pregnancy and then 1 month after baby was born. I advertised on Horsemart to this effect and had well over 20 responses. Found a suitable loaner and all worked out in end.
