You can buy a full sister to ARKO if you want!!!!!!!!!! Talk about female lines for breeding!!!!!!!!

Plenty of other very interesting youngsters for sale too. With 86 ridden lots and 54 foals on show, no wonder people go abroad!!!!!!!!

When will we see this sort of thing happening in the UK

Not in the near future, is my prediction

Really makes me want to get out of the breeding scene and put the money into some of the stunning youngsters available on the other side of the channel, as the market here is just Cr@P.

I was looking through the fences catalogue the other day and thought the same thing! Funnily enough, it was mostly the fillies that caught my eye - maybe only 3/4 colts I liked but would have LOVED to have had unlimited funds and gone and bought about 15 of the girlys!!!

Would imagine the Arko filly will go for play money figures and I wonder if the Hales will try to buy her as, if I remember correctly, the b ought his younger full brother a couple of years ago now...

Will be interesting to see just how much they go for, I will log on and let peeps know after the 3/4 October!!!!!!!

Are we really that mad trying to keep British breeding going, with little if no support, it cost me a fortune every year, how I would love to put that money into some stunning youngsters to produce for the future.

I am sure Claire would really appreciate it, as well as the outstanding dressage rider that produces my youngsters in UK.

yeah you are right they did buy his full brother i think his name was rako. not cheap! A full sister would make a lovely brood mare wouldnt it!

i got mine last week and noticed her!

its not the 1st sibling they have sold this year, i think they sold a full sister back in the spring called arko's sister or something like that. at the esi auction they had a foal by sandro boy out of a full sister to arko and one year they had a full brother called arko esi who sold for 130000 euro to the uk, i guess that was the hales?

here is another, by stakkoto out of a full sister to arko:

from the oldenburg cat' i really liked the contendro 4 year old called electra and the balou du rouet called bugs bunny. as for the foals i like the sound of the diamant de semilly x for pleasure x quidam de revel and the berlin. i wouldn't complain about any really!!!

got the cat' for the NRW elite auction today, there are some lovely broodmares and a some really nice 3 and 4 year olds.

anyone seen the ankum open sales catalogue? there are some serious tools in there!!! including... wait for it... a half sister to shutterfly and a foal from the full sister.

imagine buying the half sister to shutterfly and the full sister to arko!!!

Electra and Bugs Bunny were ones that caught my eye too, the Berlin foal was another, great minds think alike, as they say!!!!!!!!!!!

I wouldn't say no to any of them standing in my field getting ready for their career or eating me out of house and home!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Need to seriously get on the mailing list!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think my order is for the black Don Kennedy mare Die Schone and the Stedinder daughter Grandiosa is also rather nice

Sadly as the British public wont pay decent money for foals at auction in the UK, you dont get the breeders willing to put their stock forwards, in order to have a really good sized catalogue to offer. And the marketing and production in Germany really shows us up!

Also what you must remember is this wont be the best of what they have to offer for example alot of colts will be kept back as future prospects as they will get more money for them if they license!!!

I also recieved the cat the other day, very nice class of horses. I very nearly went to the foal auction at the end of Aug, a friend wanted a sj foal. We ended up at Brightwells though, and bought a nice colt from there.
I felt only a few foals were any good at it, I'm hopeing he bought a good one!
I really think we need more gradings with stricter judges who are not bias. The cr*p we breed in this country is not good enough for the riding club levels half the time.
Saying that, I did breed from my injured mare and have a 2 yo as my next project. The mare has since been put down.
I plan to produce him myself and he will never be for sale so I am not flooding the market with said cr*p.
Rant over!
