My friend works in some kennels in Abingdon, they take in strays and she has just told me the dogs will be PTS on monday if they are not found homes :( They are at Honeybottom Kennels. If anyone is interested, please get in touch with the kennels. Sadly, alot of these dogs are staffies, and doubtful if theyll find a new homes, but id rather spread the word and at least TRY and help these dogs instead of just standing by doing nothing :(

Ace (labxstaffie, neutered male) - 7yrs?
Been brought into us twice (found wandering on street), first time claimed the second time not. The chip is apparently registered to owner's son (who has moved and gave dog to his dad). No contact at all from owner this time. Chip number: 985 140000702851 real name is ACE. Mostly clean in kennel, definitely house-trainable. Very friendly with people and other dogs. Good recall. Probably fine for a family with children

Tan and white staffie (female, probably unneutered) - 1yr?
Not clean in kennel. Very loving, happy, lively. Great with other dogs and people (found with black staffie, tied to tree). Probably fine for family with children. I have possibly already found her a home (the man who found the three of them wants to keep her) but added her here so you know everybody!

Black staffie (female) - 1-2yrs?
Not clean in kennel but housetrainable. Very friendly with people and other dogs (was found with three other staffies, tied to a tree). She hasn't learnt not to nip when she gets excited so maybe not a house with children. Very lovable, very lively and excitable - typical staffie!

Brindle staffie (female, probably unneutered) - 2yrs?
Quite quiet and shy for a staffie, very loving and friendly. Good with other dogs (found with black staffie and tan+white staffie). Probably fine with children. Has a nasty tear in her lip from Dixie (Dixie caught her through the mesh) and small punctures in one of her front legs but healing nicely and she doesn't seem phased by them at all. No further medication is required, just a trip to the vets on Monday to remove the stapels from her lip.

Old curly-haired collie (male, neutered) - 7yrs?
Very friendly with dogs and people, very loving, good with recall. Clean in kennel. Very sweet boy! Found wandering street.

Dixie (pale tan staffie, female, unneutered probably as signs that she's had babies) - older 8yrs?
Sweet girl, clean in kennel. Has been known to snap/give warning when she is annoyed and not particularly good with other dogs. She will attack if pestered by them.
Found on streets.

Dolton (blue male, unneutered staffie) - 3-4yrs?
Very sweet and loving. Very good in kennels (clean) but quieter than he used to be here. Getting a bit bored and depressed as he's been here since April! Would be a great house dog. He's good with people and good with female dogs and SOME other males.

GSD (male neutered) - young 2yrs?
Very sweet boy, quite hyper and needs a lot of attention and exercise! Clean in kennel. Very friendly with people and other dogs. Maybe not with children, not because aggressive just because he is a handful! Would be easy to train. Recall not great here but there are too many exciting things going on! Found on street.

Lurcher (female, probably unneutered) - young 1-2yrs?
Typical lurcher - very friendly, very energetic, very loving. Slightly shy around new people but only for a few minutes! Not clean in her kennel. Good with recall. Great with people and other dogs. Good for a family. Found wandering around.

Buster (tan and white unnuetered male staffie) - 2yrs?
Very sweet and loving. One of our favourites here! Very clean in his kennel and seems to be good with most dogs, just not males. Been here since April and desperate for a home but his personality hasn't changed a bit since he came in - still as happy as ever! Great with recall. One missing bottom canine tooth!

Roxy (female rottweiler) + JR (unneutered male JR) - both young 5yrs max.
A great pair, both very friendly with people and other dogs. Both love each other, Frik worships Roxy! Can be dirty in their kennel but housetrainable for sure. Pretty good with recall. Very happy and very lovable. Found tied up together.

i hope this can save at least one dogs life...

Sadly not, They are mainly kennels who take in strays for a period of time, 7 days i think. They try to rehome, or get them into rehoming centres. Theyve been at this kennel for 14 days, being paid for by the kennels owners. This is why they have until just Monday before they are PTS :(

Oh I see- more of a pound then a rescue. Heartbreaking! Very surprised the Blue boy has not been snapped up by someone thinking they could maybe make a quid or two.

ETS- have they tried the police for the GSD?

That's who I keep looking at! If I wasn't about to go on holiday and also have a dog whose gonna be pts shortly who is going to have a big impact I would be heading up the m40. If this post was next month I think i would but right now its not fair on Teal to loose his dad and have a new face about his home I think.

The dog in the first photo is really tugging at my heartstrings, but I can't take on any more animals right now. I think i am going to share it on my Fb page,

edited so as not to alienate anyone

I would just like to thanke EVERYONE who has messaged me and tried to help these dogs. I would also like to thank Equestrianabbie for posting this on another forum, which resulted in LOTS of people helping out and offering homes. I have hopefully found the lurcher a home for life, IF we can sort out transport. So far, my friend can bring her to me, me and abbie will take her to coventry area, but we need someone from around coventry to nottingham....

I also may have the GSD a home. Potential new owners will ring kennels tomorrow.
Rottie and JRT have interests, still waiting for a response....

Keep your fingers crossed.

i really cant have another dog , but happy to pay for rottie and jrt food until a home can be found .........pm me if this is a option x

Someone off another forum rang up the kennels today and said they would rehome the rottie and jrt today. Hopefully its all gone well. GSD has had interests, not sure if anyone rang up about him though. just found out the collie hasnt actually got a home (like i was told!) but a place to go, like a rescue, if no one wants him :/

All the dogs have been rehomed apart from the border collie (if no one has him, there is a collie rescue willing to take him) the lurcher (i had a home lined up for her but couldnt get in contact with the potential new owner, she has a few days extention to get this sorted!) and a staffy, who unfortunately is aggressive towards other dogs and will not be suitable around children :(

I must say, when this was posted on another forum, everyone jumped forwards and helped out in any way they could. Most of these dogs got new homes :)
