Years ago I had a little yellow mini. On a saturday I would put 3 bales of hay on the roof rack, then lay three large bags of shavings on the back seat. One in the passenger footwell and one on the passenger seat. There was just enough room for me to climb inside the car and drive back home.

reminds me of when I was a kid, long time ago now, but when my uncle was hay and straw carting us kids used to go along and ride back home on the top of the load, an ancient old Massey with a tin seat and a rickety old trailer 'elf and safety would have had a field day!!!
