Patrick came out his stable crippled lame this morning and after both my vet and farrier looked at him it seems he has laminitis yet again along with a virus which makes him look like he has strangles. We have no idea what has caused the laminitis this time so I have been recommended to have him cushings tested which I will do this week.
Am so so fed up with all this, bang goes my regionals as well unless I can get him sound by the end of the week as he has to have 4 weeks box rest and even then he will go unfit.
Please could I have some get well vibes for Patrick.

Sending healing vibes - what a bummer

Thank you all - he is snuggled up in his stable tucking into a haynet, high as a kite on painkillers looking pleased with himself although he is fixed to the spot as it is too painful to move. I am freezing after spending all morning up the yard since 6.45am waiting for farriers and vets (who I have to say were fantastic) and am now at home trying to defrost.

Big hugs to you and Patrick!!! My boy has been stuck in his box for 7 weeks now due to Cushings induced Laminitis - first time for us so we're finding it very hard! I hope your boy gets better soon x

Its awful isn't it? The worst thing is there is not much you can do to help them really. Hope your boy gets better soon.

have a warm bath and a nice brandy (well i would) and try to feel a bit better that hes on his painkillers and feeling very little, i send big healing vibes over from sunny spain and hope you feel more positive soon, he starts to recuperate and your weather warms up. xx

Thank you everybody, your thoughts really are appreciated, the little cherub
seems happy enough tonight and seems to be moving a little easier. Hopefully because he is such a wimp we have caught it early, the xrays show no movement of the pedal bone which is good at least. His drugs cabinet is now bigger than mine, god knows what this bill will cost. I am off to commiserate with a glass of wine having been for a swim and a jacuzzi to cheer myself up.

Thankyou - he seems a little better this morning although not impressed with his restricted diet and all the drugs he has to take
