..to everyone who offered me advice re Jerry. I schooled him again today, after lunging him in the field yesterday and then again today before I rode for 10 mins. He was a different horse

We didn't have any moments at all, he was rushing in the trot to begin with, but after lots of transitions and changes of rein he stopped it. He then did some lovely trot work, and we even felt brave enough to attempt a canter, we didn't have any bucks, and managed a fairly slow canter, (not easy for Jerry

I am so pleased with him, and with me, but most of all I'm so grateful for all the advice, I couldn't have done it without you all

That's really good to hear. With a young horse you're always going to have ups and downs (I'm going through the same myself at the moment) but just have faith in your ability and don't get too down. I think you're doing really well with him and he looks like a totally different horse already to the one you bought.
