Two months ago he was still a colt and I wouldn't have dared do this. Not that he was a bad lad, but he would react to things so fast and with so much colty attitude that I was beginning to be a bit wary of him, and not really enjoying spending time with him. Since he's been gelded I've caught up on groundwork, introduced him to new things and I will admit I've been very strict with him, but the more firm I've been with handling him, the more he's seemed to trust me, and then today....
I haven't been able to sit with him like this since he was a little foal. It was sunny and he was making little whiffly sighs and contented grunts while I massaged him. It was just lovely.
