I normally post these in the dogs section but today this caught my eye:

Offered free to good home, grey Welsh mountain Section B 12.2hh gelding. Likes lead rein, but can jump and enjoys pony club games. Quite strong, but lovely nature. Aged 15, passport and in good health. Only being offered because he is not being ridden. Needs to be with another 4 legged friend, or will get lonely!

Wtf?!!

With you, there. I see lots of cats and dogs on there, too. Normally young ones, which are suddenly 'not settled in' or owners moving house. Lovely, innit? :(

I left Freecycle because of all the animal ads. Supposedly against their T&Cs but they still carry on. Locally I actually watched one cat go through three homes in as many weeks, all with 'excellent' reasons of course (not)

On one of my local for sale sites is a girl giving away an un neutered cat because she "doesn't want it any more". On further investigation it turns out she's pregnant, so keeping the poor creature in to prevent it giving fleas to her unborn child. It's thus peeing everywhere and now she can't be bothered with it. She just keeps stating she's "had enough of it".

I'm tempted to email her the number for the local children's home for when her baby pees on the floor too....

I've reported quite a few ads to breed rescues etc and actually picked a collie up and took them to a rescue place - the poor thing had been to over five homes in a month and was out of his head. He was settled into a foster home who ended up keeping him. Never seen horses on there before tho.
