Vet came today for a check up on the youngester with strangles, she obviously hit a sore spot, horse went vertical, hit me hard of the head and landed on my leg - I have just spat out half a filling and now waiting for a lift to the hospital as i just can't weight bare on my foot, hubby on way from work.

I really really have had enough of the whole lot this year.

All the vet could say was sorry - and we had just had a discussion outside the stable on the fact that she was very "stressy" and would she please worn me before she did anything so I could make sure i was on the same side as her and out of harms way..... I was just putting the head collar on her and bam....

She did bandage my foot and ankle though to try and make amends - and all it turned out to be an "everything" going the right way job - oh yes - who is now going to do two horses on quaranteened box rest ?

It may end up as a turn them out decison, not one i want to do, but its hard enough to get cover for well horses let alone those that are under suspision of strangles or those with it

cry cry cry - i just wish someone would shoot me

You're really not getting a break are you. Hang on in there - hopefully its not too bad. remember to tell them you've had a bash on the head.

I can just imagine the groan your husband lets out when he sees your number come up ;), good job he loves you :D.

Hope you get seen quickly and it is nothing too serious!

That's just not fair..talk about "when troubles come they come not alone but in battalions" ..hope you are ok and not too broken. {{}} hug.

Well I did get a break - thanks Q.... not quite the one i wanted its my leg.... :(

frantic phone calls now trying to find someone to cover horses for next 8-10 weeks... at the weekends....

flaming heck I wonder why sometimes we all get a run of dreadful luck, it really never rains but it pours.

After what you've been through I'm convinced your luck is going to change x

Oh gingerwitch, im sorry. hope you get the little ones sorted. you really are having a ****** time of it! Look after yourself! Xx

Well that's rubbish :( and what pants timing!
I hope you get the horses sorted and you don't get too bored sat with your feet up watching daytime TV :)

Oh no how pants- where are you based GW Im on phone so can't see. Might be able offer help if local.
Which bone broken, that sucks tho. Worst timing presume no chance can put on full livery as they are quarantined.

Jeez - I thought things couldn't get any worse for you :(

Hope leg heals quickly and you get help you need with the horses.

oh poor you GW-im sure if anyone is close enough you will have plenty of help offers-i would if i were near enough (((hugs for you)))

Oh Gingerwitch, what an awful year you've had; you have my sympathy! Sometimes you just need to grin and bear it (OK grinning not necessary ;)), just go with it, in the knowledge that things will get better. And they will. Where is your planet? People on here may be able to help out.

(((()))) Gingerwitch I fractured mine 5 months ago and feel for you. Being off your feet is a real pain. Try to stay off it as much as you can. Hope you are able to get the help you need. Good luck for a speedy recovery.

It can only get better! My youngster kicked out at a show last weekend and broke my arm lol least i get out of mucking out and haynet filling !!

Poor you! If I am near your planet I will help.
It sounds as if it was completely avoidable too, which must make it feel worse.
Things WILL get better!
xx

Thanks for all the offers - bless - quite a few on the yard have come up with a rota to help me out over the next 4 weekends - and my riding instructor is doing this weekend, and by then I should be in a fit positon to hoble around.

I am bound to get fired though - i was only taken on on the 1st July and had a week off after I lost the big lad, had had a load of time off whilst i was loosing the big lad - albiet i booked most off as holiday, and now this !

I must be too old for crutches - last time i was on them was 7 years ago and i flew round - i am really struggling today though !
