It was a sentance where he would only be released if he is considered to no longer be a danger to society. It actually means that in reality he will never be released. A life sentence he would be out in 10-15 years so this is actually better.

Yes but time and time again the pyschiatric bods say these prisoners are reformed charachters and time and time again they are given a 'get out of jail free' card and time and time again they go on to reoffend.

I would have thought it would be quite easy to play the 'reformed sadistic bas*ard turned good honest god fearing person' and just as easy to fiddle the system so early release is a deffo.
