....and new guy was fantastic. Buuutt, I ony had my broodmare done 6 months ago and he said her teeth were shocking. (as in someone else had done a bad job) Ditto my other mare

It's worrying really - you think someone's done a job and then you realise it hasn't been done properly.

They are sorted now thank goodness. Poor girls...

I've found they all seem to say this when you change to a new one. Not sure whether I believe them really! A new dentist came to my yard and he had a dental nurse! And a dentists outfit

Not sure I can say on here so will PM you! The last guy was quite quick and matter of fact - new guy actually explained everything, made me feel V's teeth and even drew pictures. He also cleared up a long term issue that A has had that I asked previous guy about but he'd dismissed it.

So releived and p'd off at the same time!

I do believe this guy - he has a good reputation and the way he went through everything was really good. I 'felt' the last guy was a bit pants - hence the change.

I have to call my horse's dentist tomorrow. Maiden has grass packing up between her front teeth

but I am really worried about trying to make an appointment as I know my dentist is always fully booked - if I can't get him out soon it could become a problem, but I don't want anyone else as I think my dentist is bloody brilliant and I haven't met anyone else quite as good!

I had the same thing happen to me a few months ago - I had someone out to look at horsies teeth cos I felt they weren't right - was expecting him to feel different afterwards (he was grinding his teeth when ridden & not accepting the bit) - dentist came out and did a bit of rasping, said they were ok. A few weeks later, it had made no difference, so I called a highly recommended dentist out - he looked at them and said they were pretty bad - lots of sharp edges. Straight away there was a difference - the tooth grinding stopped, he accepted the bit and started to relax his jaw - I was really nicked off about previous person

Needless to say, now I'll only have out EDT people as I know they have been through the training. At least your horsies teeth are ok now!
