Kallie my ex-racehorse - before and after photos

I had a little rummage through my old photos of Kallie today, prompted by taking him jumping and thinking he was actually doing pretty well at keeping his weight this year! So Before and after:-

Before, whilst in racing

When I first bought him, after a sort of allergic reaction

When he first arrived out of racing, rather shell shocked!

Definitely struggled to keep his weight on the first year - this was the fattest he got all winter.

This year, living out with haylage and doing amazingly well on the Pure Feeds - I normally wouldn't plug but he actually is blooming on the stuff and he is SO hard to keep the weight on.

Lovely lovely horse! He is Kaldouas isn't he? 2nd and 3rd pic are from Bangor Racecourse when ridden by Richie McGrath in a 3mile Handicap Chase in October 2009. 3rd pic, in the background, the grey horse in the yellow and black colours is Silver By Nature, our stable star lol!

He looks to be thoroughly enjoying his new life and he most certainly deserves it after a decent career racing.

Thank you all - yes, he is Kaldouas and he is a much loved horse in a forever home now, just a total joy to own. Today he had his first days hunting and was a proper star - after a few initial brake issues, he settled beautifully and jumped and galloped all day long. I have high hopes for the little Halling horse too - he is still rather green but such a nice little horse.
