Same here but I'm a learner so don't have the experience to take on the one I know about. She's an exracer and been out of work for years. Getting thinnner and thinner and not being fed properly and the owner has basically given up on her
I've been told the RSPCA are involved and are monitoring her and may 'take action' if she looses any more weight. She's such a stunning girl too, such a waste.
She looks great now. It is so rewarding to see them improve. I rescued a mare 2 years ago and i don't regret it for a second. She is the sweetest, gentlest horse i have ever known. Vet condition scored her 0 when i got her, she had rainscaled, sores, lice and was skin and bone was told she was 14 but is actually 21 she has a pelvic problem and is lopsided i will know when it is time to make the hardest decision. Can post pics tomorrow if anyone would like to see her they are on my other computer!
Ha ha Lynds you finally managed it!! Uploading is a bit of a swine!!
I think you should be extremely proud of yourselves and all that horrid stuff can now be forgotten as you have a lovely mare with a lovely home, see you tomorrow!!
Eventually Di, lol, yes cant say its been a bed of roses, and have nearly given up a couple of times as we have a few issues, but were gettin there. And no matter what now, i can say shes definetly staying x
Do you mind me asking if she was always called Kallipso and where you got her from? Its just that she looks VERY familiar, and you seem to know Squirtlys_Mum who's from Canterbury - I am from that area too.
She looks a million times better anyway, so well done.
