Katie Price Does Hoys!

Her riding is not that great, her instructor needs to do alot more work with her. IMO the horse is too good for her. She needs something that she wont look out of her depth on.

I actually have to agree............ BUT Yes of course I am jealous that i dont have access to such beautiful horses/trainers... who wouldnt be!!!

So nice to know im not the only green eyed monster here

I just think the horse is a bit much for her

[/ QUOTE ]

What gives you that impression? Have you seen her ride it in the flesh?

On their show a couple of weeks ago, (yes I am sad and find myself watching it) when she was at a dressage competition, she herself said it is most little girls dream to go to the Olympics. She said she doesn't feel good enough and probably won't ever be, but has dreams.

I long ago learnt not to listen to what "journalists" said as it is often inaccurate. However, for anything in life, if someone puts in the hard work and dedication why shouldn't they go just because they are not born of a certain class. I really do not understand all the criticism or in a certain case downright meanness. it is no one's job to diminish the ambitions of anyone else, I wish her well - as it seems do many here

I usually refrain from commenting on these posts... but with such an insecure seat and hands that aren't steady why is she riding in a double bridle!!!

I say good on her for raising the profile of equestrianism. However, I agree with those that are irritated by her 'Olymipic Plans' and the fact that she has obviously got the money to buy herself some very very good horses. I'm sure I could do quite nicely with unlimited funds and no 9-5 job and four lessons a week with a top trainer!!!!

Lol i was actually at Hickstead when she done her test. The horse she was riding then (i know its different to the one at HOYS) she looked liked she was having trouble holding it. Just my opinion.

Nice horse.

KP could do with a few more months on the lunge to get her lower leg more secure and stop her relying on the curb rein. But in fairness, she looks ok and I'm sure she will improve in leaps and bounds with the training she has and with such a lovely schoolmaster to ride (lucky cow LOL).

I wouldnt no sorry. I do believe though that alot of what she says is tongue in cheek and the press just blow it out of proportion.

I might say good luck to her, but I would be horrified if anyone thought she was a good role model for my teenage daughter.

I would hope my daughter doesn't want to get massive implants put in her boobs, in order to pose topless whilst pouting at the camera and making suggestive poses. As a model J/KP has laughed all the way to the bank so she's done well out of it, and she can spend her money wherever she likes, on the best horse available, but please, not a role model. At least not after all I have spent on getting my child a decent education!

I admire the way she has turned herself from a glamour model into a astute business woman.. she has a brain on her and is making the most of her career. Good on her.

At the end of the day she's a business woman - she knows she will get far more press attention from saying she is "going to" do the Olympics, than saying I'm planning on competing locally then might have a bash at something bigger!

I believe that KP said she has dreamt of Olympics since she was a little girl - and the press have turned it into her aiming for 2012! Personally I love her (OH hates her lol).

I'm jealous as hell of her being able to afford such a gorgeous horse and so many lessons, and of her appearing at HOYS just because she's famous for getting her t1ts out, but she's worked hard to get where she is and she is really down to earth and I think a nice person. I can't imagine any of her horses being left with no food or not looked after properly, so fair play to her

Oh, my golly gosh!!!! Katie Price has ambition. How very dare she try to enter the ranks for nobility and the upper class stock. After all she lives in Great Britain and under a system where if your not born into wealth, you can be entreurpenural and get out of an unfair class system(only 1 percent ever do) and break out of the lowly position applied to an individual at birth. Hooray, girl done good, I say. She has just the same amount of talent and ambition, probably more so, than do all good riders, as well as being athletic, which helps. Of course, if I ever came into some money(wishful thinking) Of course, I wouldn't buy a gorgeous horse, a private trainer etc. Why would any of us do that?
smirk.gif

Its natural to be envious of others, but in support of exclusion from sports clubs, this country is supposed to be a meritocracy and not India with a cast system. All sports should be accessable to the masses(with no exclusions)
grin.gif

Rather though, this is wishful thinking.

I'll be at HOYS on Friday and will definitely be watching the Masterclass.
Go Katie ... I think you're a breath of fresh air that the dressage world needs. Most of the amateurs I see around are in danger of disappearing up their own backsides!!!

She is a bad image for our sport...and hopefully she will give up soon. She is a chav, no wonder she was not welcome at that polo match.

How ridiculous. A bad image for our sport? Cripes, you have no idea.

How incredibly well put. Completely agree.

Horse is lovely and I am very jealous - but then I'm jealous of anyone who can actually afford their own horse as I can't
frown.gif
I agree if I had access to that much money I would buy a decent horse and start learning more and hoping to achieve something with my riding. However I do think it's strange she gets into HOYS just for being famous. Don't understand the exclusion from the Cartier Polo. I don't think her earlier career should be used to inspire the younger generation but she has done well for herself - if only I'd thought of it first
smile.gif
And also just thinking out loud really and no-one shoot me down as I know nothing about dressage but she doesn't look comfortable in that pic

Oh get over it! Bad image? Try those two SJers who posed for some very tacky shots in their underwear.
I wish her the very best.

I couldn't of said it any better than that!!
I admire her for having a go at blumming stressage, because as much as I would love to give it ago I know I would be bloody awful at...So thats my green eyed bit.

So what she modeled topless, so what she has all this money and can buy whatever she wants, So what her position isn't the best................Didn't we all start out with a horrific position, because I know I did!

I think people really need to give this girl a break, She is doing something we all love to do "Ride a horse", yes she maybe off to HOYS, but god damn who wouldn't want to do that and ride in a master class!!

I wish her all the luck in the world and I hope she does show people whats she is made of and totally blow her critics away.

Nice horse. I hope she does well. Who cares who she is and what's she done (I'm no Jorden or KP fan) - she is just a girl who likes horses, I would buy the best if I had her money.

wonder how much that cost?, its a beautiful horse and i want one, do you think Peter will buy me one if i ask nicely? Lucky Lady to have the time and the money to chase her dream - isnt that what we all want - the freedom to do what we want
