Really impressed

She does seem more dedicated than I'd previously thought, how different does she look compared to her glamour days?! Much better now she's had a reduction as will ! Didn't get her £6000 back for the polo - very harsh

I'm not a Katie Price fan really but I did think the polo debacle was completely out of order. I think Katie is good for the horse world in some ways as at least she brings the sport to the attention of those who wouldn't ordinarily be interested. I wasn't all that impressed by the video of her dressage test but she certainly has a lot of money and determination to throw at improving her dressage

well im a huge katie fan and i think the whole polo thing was a real shame.

as for her dressage test i think she rode alot better than alot of people i have seen do there first tests before.

ooh, actually I don't think that interview showed her in a good light at all.

First off she completely neglects to mention that it wasn't Cartier at all who excluded her, but rather the Chinawhite's tent - still not on but she wasn't banned from the entire event, so why she is blaming Cartier is beyond me.

I fully expect to be shot down for this, but I also find her comments about the Olympics a bit tasteless. I think it is great she is riding and has ambition, but she is at prelim level at the moment. It seems to me to be a bit arrogant to be talking about going to the Olympics in only 4 years time, when we have riders who have worked their entire lives to be good enough to get a chance to go. Money can buy you the best horse and the best instruction there is, but it won't buy the talent and ability that takes years of hard work to build up.

Whilst I agree that she raises the profile of the sport... why is she wearing hat on the ground, but not on the horse? Isn't it better to be the other way around?

Hmm... really not sure, think the Olympic comment is just a bit 'Jordan' really and I cannot imagine she will, certainly not with a horse called the B*llocks!

I think if she appeared to take it seriously she could appeal to some people to raise the profile of the sport. However, with the name she has choosen for her horse, its not a good impression.

Bring back only fools on horses to raise the profile of horse riding

I agree with Spiral on this on the polo thing. I think she could've handled things with a bit more dignity, but I can see how she'd be p:ssed off.
As for the Olympics, I'm not sure her comments are tasteless, but certainly a bit arrogant.
Got nothing against KP personally and I'd love to look as good as she does in joddies, but she sounds a bit brattish in the interview and I didn't think she was.

Perhaps tasteless was not the right word... maybe I meant thoughtless? But certainly I agree, she does come across as a bit arrogant and bratty in the interview.

KPs Words

"I am totally plastic and proud! Everything about me is fake but I'll never get any plastic surgery on my face.

"Although I've had my nose done anything else from the neck up is just wrong. You see people in LA with these weird creases in their face - it doesn't look natural."

Yeah - KP looks soooo natural.

Where in the article does itr say she is going to try to go to the olympics-i just read that she has an olympic standard horse. slight difference there-Its only olympic standard if it has an olympic standard rider which as we have all argued at the moment she is not.

My point being that I could get on an PSG dressage horse and I know that I'm not a PSG rider. SHe has bought an olympic standard horse knowing that she is not an olympic standard rider but that this horse could teach her alot surely?

At the risk of getting shot down - maybe her comments about the 2012 Olympics were said with tongue firmly in cheek??

After all hasn't she been quoted elsewhere as saying she had no intention of aiming for the Olympics?

A bit lower down she says;

"I'm going to be training every day and I've already developed a six-pack from where I've stepped up my riding. I'm taking it really seriously so don't write me off for 2012. I'd love to do it but need to prove myself at the GB trials. I've also been asked to do the Horse Of The Year show and have been given a seven minute slot to do a routine to music.

"It's incredibly flattering to be asked but I only have three weeks to prepare as I'm off to LA next week to get my boobs done again."

Yes, she's soooo devoted she's slotting her training in around her boob job and recovery.
*sigh*

Yes, I don't dispute that.
Perhaps you weren't answering me specifically?

I don't know, has she?

Perhaps that was before she bought her olymic-standard horse?

In an interview after her dressage debut she said then about not considering herself to be anywhere good enough for the Olympics - or words to that effect

Yeah it was said waaaaayy before she got her new horse

Well i think its fab that shes having an attempt at getting to the olympics- im sure it would be a dream come true for many horse ridders- if i had her money id buy a stupidly amazing horse and have a stupidly amazing instructor too!

Yes maybe they were, but all we have to go on is what the article says - which implies she is perfectly serious.
