Right that's it! I can not stay silent any longer... please I ask, no beg, pray even that Katie Price turns her attention elsewhere and gets out the horse world. - Katie I DONT CARE if you did or didn't have an affair, I am not interested in the slightest, in fact lots of people have lots of affairs all over the world.. all you are insterested in, is your image and making money (who could blame you for that one) - not horse welfare - and I am not even going to start on that old chestnut. IMO Your Equestrian clothes are b*oody terrible, your sparkly horse wear is even worse
PLEASE PLEASE I beg you, take up Cricket or something!! LEAVE THE HORSE WORLD ALONE!! especially Dressage!! Dressage has all the class anyone could need, without you!! stop bringing our sport into disrepute.

I am defo not old school (can't stand fake diamonds on horses though!)

Agree, KP needs to find a different way to 'borrow class', not credible and a terrible role model for horsey kids, just turn up, get on a horse someone else schools and looks after, get off it and hand it back, as long as you look sparkly doing it.

Was seen on tv waffling on about how having a good wholesome hobby makes her a great role model for kids; she was riding without a hat at the time. Posing drunk and half naked for the papers doesn't help much either. Just my opinion, we're all entitled to one.
 
Ah come on now - some attention to the Horse World is better than none and if just one townie in their velour trackie decides to give horse riding a try, then we win.

I'm not interested in her in the slightest, but I like the attention and extra SPONSORSHIP that the industry might get. Think football - all their tedious exploits are in the newspaper

So deep breath and think of the upside.

Am not a KP fan at all, she is not the best rold model for the horse mad kids to aspire to, but in fairness though, (apart from the bling and tacky brand of clothes) she has bought Dressage (rightly or wrongly) to the notice of the tabloid reading public. I think that any sportsman needs to remember that threre are kids out there who idolise them, I appreciate that they are human but they need to remember with the big bucks comes some sense of responsibility :mad:

I take it you didn't see the story about the Katie Price wannabe that took up riding and fell off and broke her back then? That was KP's fault too....

I am not a KP fan. But seriously is all this nastiness aimed at her really required? I think some people really need to get on living their own lives rather than picking apart other peoples. Its really not fair - after all "he who is without sin may cast the first stone". I am not given to quoting religous words but I think this pretty much sums up this thread.

Poor KP. I haven't got a problem with her or how she makes a living. I do take exception to the inference that she shouldn't be a part of the horse world because she's not 'class'. Horses are for everyone regardless of background. JP Sheffield was a milkman's son. Even the hunting faternity are happy to ride with people from all walks of life.
I thought elitism in the horseworld was outdated,KP does a fair bit to put money back into the sport, and countless people have their horses on full livery and trained so they can just pop on and compete, as in the hunting world.
 
Actually aside from my earlier post, what is all the fuss about and her law suit? Haved I missed something? Even though we diss her, she is making a lot more money in a week than I will ever make in a year!! She is obviously doing something right! :eek:
 
I agree that she is trashy and not exactly a brilliant role model for children but at least the horses will be getting the best of care and attention at the trainers yard and have the best of everything there…. That’s a lot more that some other poor horses out there who are stuck in fields, underweight, cold and with nothing to eat :(

If im correct - i believe the law suit was something to do with her claims she made against Peter Andre that he is taking her to court over. Noting to do with affairs, horse welfare, tacky clothing, lack of class etc.
 
for every person that has ever said ' she gives soemething back to the sport' etc or along those lines....

i could think of much better ways she could help.

donate some money to a welfare sanctuary. or sponsor a young rider or two with a horse / lessons / competitions. someone who has put the graft in but doesn't have the money to go forward. not someone who has the money and does horse riding as a 'hobby'

that would make the industry less 'elitest' and give some of us riders who were born without silver spoons in our mouths a bit of hope!

I agree with this, riding should be made accessable to everyone :mad:
Just because KP has done things differently it doesnt mean she shouldnt be able to enjoy her horses.
Posts like this make me so angry because people wonder why the horse world is not a nice place to be in :mad: :mad: people bitching over nothing!!!

Jenni_ I have to ask... Why should she? She has always had horses/ridden, so why should she sponor someone else to do what she wants to do?

If I had her money I would be doing exactly as she is.

Why should she be giving her money away, though?
I mean, she puts it into the sport, not necessarily by charitable means - she buys horses, pays trainers, grooms, buys tack... you know, the sort of things that make the equestrian world go round :rolleyes:

Just because you don't like her stuff doesn't mean everyone else hates it too! She brings a lot of publicity to the horse world and surely encouraging new people to ride is all good?

And why don't you do that then with the money you spend on horses/riding?
 
A huge amount of trash is printed about her in the papers and on-line, but to the best of my knowledge this is the only time she's sued, and I'd guess she's doing it on behalf of Andrew Gould and his wife who don't deserve to get drawn into her tabloid narrative. I think it's her way of drawing a line and making sure his professional reputation is spotless.
 
Okay, so some people think she is not a nice person, doesnt like what she stands for etc etc.
Does this mean everyone that I think is not a nice person cant have anything to do with horses?
The pictures of her riding show well looked after horses, she has brought some attention to the Horse world, so what is it exactly that she has done wrong?
 
OK can we get over the blasted katie price posts, so she does not have the best morals in the world, does it effect your life NO.
She made money by selling herself and she made a darn good job of it and can now afford to buythe best horses (who on here would not if they could afford to) but how the hell can you say that is anything to do with horse welfare, i am sure her horses are very well looked after on full livery.
Also at the moment the horse industry could do with all the publicity it can get, sponsership is dropping and if she brings it back into the headlines again, all the better.
It done football no harm, so lets get over the snobbery and realise horses is for everyone not just those brought up with a silver spoon in their mouths.

Oh, I have to say that when I met her at a friends yard (minus the camera crew thank god) she was very pleasant and enthusiastic, granted she doesnt know that much about horses and I do believe that she does use them to create the illusion of class to herself, but really i cant see what she has done wrong in all of this.

I have read that she is down to earth, but I thought she was very out of her depth with my friend and I, and that her interest in horses isnt much more than an expensive spare time hobby (I know alot of people like that though, myself included now) but as far as my friend was aware, her horses are well cared for by her staff (as are her children) and at least they have happy homes. She has the money for someone elses knowledge, why does she need it?

I will say though she was wearing her clothing range on the day and as it was someone I had just met I could see how it would be hard to take her seriously wearing glittery pink and thick flase eyelashes.
