Katie Price...Silicone poisoning hits her hard!

[ QUOTE ]
Regular riding clothes are too earthy...just too plain for the silicone darling. Not enough pink and bling for her liking...and not exclusive enough to suit her. A bit full of herself.

[/ QUOTE ]
Well said, that comment she made annoyed me too! Just because riding stuff is not all pink and bling does not mean it's boring!

I have to say that i think she is fabulous, yes she is a bit up herself at times, but WHO ISN'T!!

Her business knowledge is amazing and everything she does is very well thought out.

As for DH making money from the range, they must be otherwise they wouldn't have picked up the spring/summer line... which with it's new blue and green additions i think is a really nice range, they add some colour and variety to the horse world and good or bad she has raised the public image of equestrianism.

As for her appearance, we have no right to judge her just because she has enhanced her figure artificially... i nearly had a coronary when i found a wrinkle the other day and started going on about Botox and if i had the money i'd have a boob job too (Only to make them more pert abut it's still artificial modification)!!

Can you imagine how she would feel after reading a totally unprovoked attack like that... even if she does get it on a regular basis!

random post... i thought she'd been poisoned. i've got rather a lot of silicone in my, um, breastage area... so was slightly worried... phew, at least it was just a random, unprovoked attack on KP again!

i'll go back to admiring my gigantic chest... ha!
smile.gif

I am not a fan of KP.
I find her crude and vulgar, but credit where credit is due she was very brave to show her dressage at the HOYS (I think it was there!)
On interviews or her series (which I have watched only once and that was enough for me!) as I said I find her very crude and full of her self, but if she is selling her diamante and pink equestrian range and there is a market for it then why not.
I personally would not buy anything for riding from her range but that is because I have not liked anything in her range.

When she no longer can make money from her glamour modelling she will need to look at other options and this is one of them. Love her or hate her she has guts!

Any idea what that image is?

I definatly do NOT want to be assciated withthe comments made about her in jodhs!

Playing up to the single worst sterotype we have about our sports is not a good thing for the horse world.

BUT,(and can you tell I am no fan?
tongue.gif
) the stuff is selling,so who cares?
If people are happy to pay for the goods leave her alone ot make and sell them.
Just hope she doesnt f*ck up the proposed tack range or whine the her former job choice kept her off the 2012 squad because lets face it,thats a pipe dream for anyone not part of World Class allready unless they pull something REALLY special out of the bag between now and then.

i will be contraversial here and say that i do not like her and do not think she is a good the for our sport. i think she protrays the idea that you can buy your way to the top (with her dressage horses) which is something we should work hard to move away from, correct me if im wrong but i would think that she does not muck out those horses every day turn then out feed them etc etc and just reeps the benefits of riding them when the message should be hard work will bring you success. on the clothing front whatever i may personally think of it i just done this it is equestrian wear as are velour shorts really practical around the yard???? if it was jods show jacket shirts etc then maybe i could understand it , but if its sells then fair play , as to her " silicone enhancements" i find that vulgar and unneccassary but that is nothing to do with her equestrian range and does not need to be brought up, im sure this may not go down well with her fans but is just my thoughts!!!

So what if Katie Price wants to be an "equi chav" you dont have to look at her!

[/ QUOTE ]

Well, actually, yes you do. She seems to be plastered in every equine magazine and catalogue and that is now annoying me. Otherwise, each to their own, and I wouldn't post a nasty comment like this made by the OP.
However, she/he has a right to their own opinion (as people on here frequently say)

correct me if im wrong but i would think that she does not muck out those horses every day turn then out feed them etc etc and just reeps the benefits of riding them when the message should be hard work will bring you success.

[/ QUOTE ]

I don't muck out, turn out, feed etc my horses either - I employ a groom to do that for me and reap the benefits of riding them
tongue.gif
does it mean that I shouldn't be successful in competition?? Would daily muck out improve my riding and results?
I consider myself working hard - riding 4/5 horses a day.

BTW - I really dislike KP.

Sorry, i never get why everyone makes such a fuss about her. I don't have a problem, I find her funny and actually quite normal and so what if she's made her money by constantly being flaunted in the press most of the time. I have met and know of far worse and very stuck up, opinionated people within the horsey fraternity.

She says what she thinks - shock horror! The amount of stories we see on here about bitchiness in livery yards etc etc just goes to show not all horsey people are fluffy and nice. Of course she's gonna say horsey people don't have fashion sense - it gets a response doesn't it.

Quite frankly I have more of an issue with the trend of todays footballers getting paid the extortionate amounts they do (hey but that's a totally different rant of mine!). I think KP is actually a better example to impressionable youngsters than many of them.

i understand this and have nothing against and im under no illusuion that john whitaker or mark todd muck out their horses, but for some that seems to think they are doing so much for the image of the sport could give more of the message that money cannot buy everything !!! even a picture of her in a stable with a (pink) pitch fork????

Well, I don't think she particularly believes that she is doing that much for the image of equestrian sport - those are the words of horsey people, not hers.
I think she is just making money while enjoying herself and does it quite cleverly.

I too find it annoying that she's in every magazine, website and catalogue but I would also (and have) refrain(ed) from making comments on here about her.

I'm not a fan either, and I think anything she adds to the 'image' of equestrianism is definitely NOT glamour, as she likes to refer to it, but what's this about her buying her way to the top? As far as I'm aware she's not even in the middle!! Whether she mucks her horses out is irrelevant, and no matter HOW grand her horses are she needs to ride ride ride if she wants to make progress and do them justice. Frankly I think she's too busy with her business commitments to dedicate the necessary time and energy to get to the top.

I think what PF said is true re KP's lack of time available to dedicate to horses. She has been saying recently that she wanted to get pregnant straight after the marathon, which would not be what I would be doing if I wanted to compete at the 2012 Olympics.

Personally, I wish she would work harder, improve AND get into the Olympics and do really well. Then come on here and tell some of you to stick that in your pipe and smoke it.

And how many Riders in the spotlight do you think really muck out their own horses? Thats what grooms are for dahhhhling

I wish her every success she is one gutsy woman with a fantastic business brain

In reply to quadro, although she has bought some lovely horses she also has spent a huge amount of time and effort in training and lessons. I know someone who had the same trainer as her and she worked extremely hard, just because it was away from the cameras doesn't mean it didn't happen. Just because she has bought herself the best horse she could doesn't mean she is 'buying her way to the top'.....come off it if you had the money wouldn't you buy the best horse you could?

Oh and at her last house Katie had a couple of horses there and yes, she did do mucking out, turning out etc etc

I like Katie. I don't understand what is so offensive about her its not like you are being forced to wear her clothes. Personally I find the trend for 5 point breastplates much more stupid than a couple of hoodies with diamontes on.

Some people are very boring and bitter!! I don't understand how anyone can have such hatred towards someone they don't even know!

yay! silicone rocks!
i love mine... only problem is, i can't find a body protector that actually fits...

i do wonder how KP finds one she can breathe in...?

I agree with some of the earlier posts about how it seems silly to have so much hatred for someone you don’t even know.
But we all have our opinions and here is mine.

Personally, I love KP. I think she’s a fantastic role model, a brilliant business woman and she’s done bloody well for herself.
I do think her 2012 Olympic dreams are farfetched, but it’s not hurting anyone else, it doesn’t bother people in their everyday lives so why worry about it?
Whether you like it or not KP has raised the profile of equestrianism.
One minute people are moaning that horses and our sport is never in the media and the next minute when it is people have a problem with it.
She may not muck out every day. But do ANY of the top riders? No they don’t.
I don’t even. My mum mucks out most days for me, does that mean I don’t work hard and don’t deserve to have a horse? No.
She has bought the best horse that she could afford with the money she has, and I think anyone in her position would do the same.
The fact that she has silocone breasts, and her appearance have nothing to do with her ability as a horse woman.
I don’t mean to be rude and I hope nobody is offended by this, because I know this is going to come out wrong, but the whole world and image of horsey people is that we’re snobs (which 95% of us aren’t Fyi) and the fact that some people won’t accept KP as a horse woman just because of her silocone breasts just shows us up even more.
The woman loves horses just like the rest of us on this forum. That’s enough for me.

rant over.

So...to all those who are complaining about her...are you telling me that if, say, you won the lottery you wouldn't buy nice horses, have lessons with a great trainer and generally enjoy spending YOUR money? No, I'm sure you would all put it all in the bank, carry on working, stay in every night...of course you wouldn't. We would all do the same as KP. And if it was you that won the lottery, and you did spend it on nice horses, how would that make you any different to KP? Apart from the fact that she worked for her money, probably very little.

No one outside of the equestrian industry cares enough about it to even worry about whether KP is a good ambassador. Do you all honestly think non-horsey people even think about her horsey clothing range or that it changes their opinion of horsey people - if they have even thought long enough about us to HAVE an opinion? Her stuff isn't too my taste so I don't buy it. I also don't buy Joules stuff, I think it's nasty. Personally, I like Toggi, Mark Todd is quite nice and Ariat is ok. Not everyone is like me and there clearly IS a market place for her stuff out there otherwise it wouldn't be selling so well.

Incidentally...you know she sells lingerie as well? I've yet to hear the likes of M&S complaining that she's bringing the knicker industry into disrepute

oh no how tragic!

it would appear someone has a case of the green eyed monster.

a person with respect for themselves and others would not right such a downgrading horrid post about another person! how would yu feel if someone did this to you?

i think you should take a long hard think about what you have written and maybe write an apology report to all of the people you have upset or hurt with this mindless and pointless post

I have to say that when I saw her respond to a question about her clothing line with "well I just dont understand why the colours have to be so drab" my first thought is- well most of us muck out on a regular basis, and as a result end up dirty... bright yellow is simply not practical.... neither is a baby blue winter turnout rug...

I do have to agree with this post, and I have to say- I severely dislike her. Somehow, even though she has been riding for years, its only once she has become "famous" that she has actually become any good... some of us prefer to have worked hard rather than paid extortionate amounts of money for various horses, trainers etc...

OH! have you SEEN the monstrosity of a pink body protector she has released? There is a diamante option too... Please don't all rush at once.
