Evening all,

Was flicking through OK mag today and turned to "Dear Jordan" problem page and in the opening text she says she "bought a horse from the event rider Rodney Powell" at Badminton Horse Trials.

Apparently "he arrives this week and his name is Jordan's Major Max" - she can't wait to start jumping lessons.

Anyone know anything of the horse?

No idea but she may need a good sports bra

The only one I can see with anything similar to that name which RP has a result for on BE site is called Major Sweep?

Too right Jules!

I reckon the "Jordan's" bit has come from her brand (like Jordan's Glamour Girl), so probably changed it's name already.

Sorry if I'm stating the obvious....

Would be a bit of a coincidence alright Hunty!

I am searching but can't find anything on the Major Max part

I assumed she would have bought a schoolmaster type to get started - thats what I did anyway lol

seriously how many horses does one person need?
im sorry im no fan of katie price more money than sense, oh and i doubt shes bought a schoolmaster itll be some super dooper like the dressage horse she bought.

and why not? I would do the exact same if I had the money!

How amazing would it be to have as many lessons as you want, a huge posh lorry and the money to buy great horses - good for her

i know a girl who was loaning one of her mares, it went lame (some leg problem), so she wanted to put her down straight away, my friend put up a fight to see if she would recover on grass rest etc. So Jordan (I mean KAtie!!) tried to put her into foal, which didnt work, so put her down. My friend reckons she did have a chance to make a recovery!!

Yes well - that's what the lessons are for eh?
smile.gif

Sometimes average riders can afford good horses - it's called life lol
grin.gif

What would you suggest - that people need to sit a riding exam before purchasing a certain calibre of horse?

It's an interesting topic isn't it

i dont deny she works hard etc, just seems like she trying to jump up the ranks too quickly. doesnt matter how much money or how famous you are, you need natural talent and ability to be a top rider. no doubt she loves horses, but why doesnt she just enjoy them more privately (including competing), why does it have to be such a publicity thing??

[shuffles off to put lid back on can of worms] ;-)

I seem to remember seeing a front cover of Horse Mag with her saying why she was selling Glamour Girl. Anyone read the interview - is she? Why?

Love her or loathe her, she can do what she wants with her money. The dressage horse she had shipped over to the USA looked really well looked after and she only appeared to go and ride it now and again according to her tv prog, and someone clearly more capable was riding it in between. Sorry, I like watching trashy telly.

I don't understand the publicity thing either - would be my worst nightmare having hoardes of people watching me compete!!

I guess that is how she makes her self styled brand work though - by publicising every aspect of her life.

She might not even be realistically aiming for the 'top' but by promulgating that she generates more headlines, more interest and thus more money to buy more horses lol x

I still think it's much better than all the celebs who spend their money on things to put up their nose!!
She is a right grafter and I admire that plus I don't know her personally so would never comment on what she is like as a person.

I wish posh would smile sometimes bless her.

she is an equi chav.. the type of horse owner you wouldnt want to be stabled next to !! .she has come into the dressage world and purchased the best horses money can buy..caused problems for the top riders and has now lost many friends and her husband.

She is now on a rocky road as a result of her actions so lets see how long it all lasts.

I agree with you April - if I had the money like Katie does i would be buying horses, maybe only 2 (or three! haha0) and have lessons galore, and try my hand at eventing. I am an 'average' rider but I think nobody should be frowned upon if they are average like some people say and buy decent horses.

If they can then good for them I say! Katie Price or otherwise

Nokia - What on earth has losing her husband got to do with her riding and which horses she buys?

Like her or not, she is a smart cookie and has marketed herself in different ways, hence the money she has!

Good luck to her.
Just because she is getting into show jumping doesnt mean she has given up on dressage.

There is no rule to say you can only do one at a time!. Goodness knows, she might start doing XC next......imagine, compining all three.......lol

FWIW i like katie price. don't get me wrong, her clothing line is hideous and she is not going to be riding at 2012 but if i could make millions from flashing my boobs i bloody well would do
tongue.gif
wink.gif
and if i had millions i would go out and buy amazing horses....why the hell not, they always look happy and well looked after...can we really criticise someone for trying to improve themselves?

OMG i give up .. . Life is not all about making money , buying flash horses, flashing your boobs and treating people like sh*t and acting like a smart arse. I think her morals are totally wrong and she is a very bad advertisment for the horse world

All I will say is good for her.

As has already been said, if I too had the money then god yes I would have trainers and posh lorries the works so why not. She has worked hard to get where she is now so good for her

xxx

how are her morals wrong?

How do you know what her morals are?

Like I said, love or hate her, she has put the horse world in the public eye, something we always struggle to do!
