Hello folks. I am on the hunt for another horse and have started perusing websites etc. I do a fair amount of 'window shopping' so have a fair idea of whats out there. I had spotted a nice wee mare at Kate Buntings web site and wondered what the general opinion was? I've met her before about 4 years ago when looking for a mare when she was trading out of Billy Stewarts at Hoodshill but the mare I tried failed the vet so I didn't buy her. I've heard one other story where the horse was returned without too much hassle but now she seems to be out trading independantly I'm just looking to see what the general opinion was!

Hey, she still trades out of Billy Stewarts in Leshmahagow. We looked at a couple of horses there when we were looking for a friend, she had a couple of nice ones, mainly from Holland, if we had been looking for pure sj'ers a couple would have been suitable pending vetting but we were looking for an eventer at the time. Noit heard any bad stories but that being said, we haven't been looking recently - spose its a case of going and having a look at what is there. When we were there the stables etc were nice and the facilities were outside on grass.

Kate is the same as any dealer in my experience. She has horse for sale of which most will have quirks/problems like every other horse in the world (no horse is perfect - only perfect for the job intended). As long as you are knowledgable and get the horse checked over im sure you could end up with a fantastic horse.

Have Pm'd you! Agree with Wigglypigs though - get any horse checked out! I liked Kate though and got a fantastic horse!

We got a superb horse from Kate Bunting before she moved up to Scotland. She was great to deal with.

Don't worry, you're right to be. With anyone you deal with, whether Kate or anyone else, make sure you get it in writing re terms of any return/refund etc and always always have the horse vetted.
