kbis horse insurance any good?

pain in the butt, but pay out well IME

only a pain in that if you make a claim that runs on for a period of time EVERY time you submit an invoice you have to get your vet to fill out a form!!!!!! After 2/3 the vet starts to get a bit annoyed.

They're quite anal about exclusions that come off vet certificates too.

They have always paid out without hassle. Never had a query.

Personally I'd go with NFU. They're easy to deal with and always pleasant to speak to (unlike some from KBIS have been!)

Very pleased with them so far. Helpful on the phone and paid up in the past. Just putting a claim through now but not expecting any problems and they pay promptly direct to vet.

They were extremely nice when one of ours was PTS earlier this year. I did not claim as he had a chronic problem that was not covered but when I cancelled the policy they offered to put a claim through if I wanted to try. I chose not to as it was not covered and would not have succeeded but it was nice of them to offer. The horse was PTS at the end of the month and my new payment for the following month was due a few days later. They refunded the whole of the month that he was PTS in which was I was not expecting. They also sent a nice note. Very different from my previous experience at Pet Plan. I am continuing to use them.

bit of a pain regarding exclusions - all a bit OTT really.

otherwise fab - always paid me within 2days of submitting a claim form, never quibbled.

I'm with them for my 5 and they seem ok but I not had to claim yet. They were very helpful when I took out my policy and talked me through everything and even added things to my old horses policy
