I have received a very good quote from KBIS horse insurance and just wondered if anyone else insured their horse with them? and are they a good company?

Thanks :) x

Me too :) I left NFU after 4 years due to large increase in my premiums even though I have never made a claim. I got a more comprehensive insurance for less money :D win win x

KBIS = masters of the exclusion clause (s)! IMO.

I moved from NFU as they were taking pee, so changed to KBIS last year, had some lameness probs this year, payed for vets fees myself for xrays etc to avoid exclusions and price hike and get 10% discount for immediate payment, seems now my boy is practically excluded from everything except farting now, don't think I will bother next year, my own fault for being honest and trying to do the right thing, saved KBIS some money, shouldn't have bothered

So as I was getting penalised regardless I am claiming, so forms arrived, second form categorically said in big letters to get vet to fill in "OR" enclose a written report, so being as claiming for the fee the vet charges is excluded as well, I typed up a full written report on my letter headed paper, what a waste of my time, they STILL want the vet to fill in so I have to pay that as well

Think next year I am going to go with BHS gold to get public liability and stuff the insurance.

yep both mine are with KBIS. One is retired only wanted basic insurance no other insurance company would insure her due to number of issues she has but they did and it was with less and more specific exclutions than previously and got full (ish!) vet fees.
Other horses has been having treatment for last 8 months for SI strain and lig damage in back and they have been fab though out. Will be intrested in what the exclutions will be for her but most insurance companys are the same imo for exclutions.
for me they get very high marks

Thank you everyone for your replies, i have never insured my horses before but KBIS gave a good quote and as i now have a sharer for him i think that to have him insured is going to be a good idea... just in case x
