Just thought i'd write to say how amazing KBIS are as insurers!! x

My horse, as some of you may know, has done her suspensory ligament so went for scans, xrays, shockwave and will be needed an operation to cut the nerve now.

I spoke to the vets the other day and asked if they had completed the claim forms, they said they had and the insurers had asked for history on my horse - posted here as had a panic attack when the vets had said my horse had been lame on the same leg as im claiming on now (14months ago)!! i was worried that as she had shown lameness on this leg before (due to having shoes on which she hadnt had before) i was worried they wouldnt pay out which is an awful feeling when horse having an operation is the only way she will be fixed!!

Even i knew the two incidents are totally 100% unrelated, i was sooo worried they'd use it to get out of paying out!

Today i spoke to them and they have sent the first cheque!! Soooo relieved!! x Could have a few happy tears if i wasnt at work!! x :D

KBIS are god-sends and all of this was sorted in 8days from submitting the claim form to payment being recieved!! Double Phew!! x

Definately insuring my second horse with them now!!

Thought i'd post just to say how amazing they are!! Highly recommend them!!! :D One fixed horsey coming right up!! x

Excellent news! Insurance should give us peace of mind, but I know exactly how you felt! I am with PetPlan and have always had a mini celebration whenever they have authorised a claim!

Glad that your horse is on the mend though. Big relief all round!
:)

This is lovely to hear as I have just insured my two with them, but don't know of anyone personally who has ever used them.

Glad they sorted everything for you and I hope your horse is on the mend :)

They are brilliant!! I have my horse insured with them and they are fabulous!! I have never had any problems with them and they paid full value when I had to have my horse put to sleep last year. They made everything so easy when it was a hugely tough time!! My new horse is insured with them and I had a claim with him and it was all paid done and dusted in a matter of days highy recommend them to anyone who is looking to insure their horse!

They have been fab for both claims I have had.
Only reason my two older ones are with Petplan is because KBIS didn't have a suitable policy for the cover I wanted. Got claims going through for my old lady at the moment and while they have paid up OK it has taken quite a lot of leg work on my part and numerous phone calls and they are much slower than KBIS.

I have 5 policies with KBIS and they are great to deal with. My horse box insurance and livery yard insurance were all cheaper with them too.

Our youngster got Strangles last jan, KBIS were brilliant. They dealt direct with the vets paying all the vets invoices promptly and then sending me a photo copy of the cheque and invoice so I could see it had been paid. highly recomended! :)

No, they pay £5000 per incident....also an unlimited amount of claims in a year. Well thats what mine covers anyway. It also covers £7000 for colic. x

I've just double checked my quote and it does say £3000 per incident. Annually unlimited.

You can choose between bronze, silver, gold and platinum cover. I have platinum cover for mine. Pay a £350 excess but covered up to £5000 per incident unlimited with £7000 for colic. You can have £135 excess as well but i have mine higher so premiums come down and i wouldnt claim for smaller bills anyway. I have just insured my boy with them so its definately not changed. x Give them a call if your struggling online. They are very helpful and very reasonably priced. Really recommend them!! x

KBIS were fab with my recent claim - within a week of sending the claim forms to them I received a letter from them confiming that full payment had been sent to my vets.

I have their platinum policy which includes colic surgery up to £7,500 and other incidents up to £5,000 per claim. In addition to this cover per incident is for 15 months from the onset date of incident instead of the ususal 12 months.

Yeah, thats what mine is! x :D Think that 15 month will defo be needed as mines having operation on both back legs now :o/ poor horse needs a wheelchair at this rate!! x

They are amazing, insuring my oldie with them and moving from scottish equestrian, wouldnt touch them with a barge pole. Took them 6 months nearly to pay out for a claim for my horse. Disgusting.

Good good, that's who I am insured with and after a nightmare experience previously with Petplan it's nice to know they are a decent company should I ever need to use them
