Hi

I have a Toy Poodle and was told by his breeder that she hadn't registered him with the Kennel Club as thought we wild like to choose names.

Well I been waiting and waiting for his papers and they just don't seem to be doing them. I have spoken, texted and emailed and she always assures me she will do it.

So my question is can I do it???

I want to do agility and to register him but if both is parents are Kennel club registered then it says he has to be registered too!!! I can't just register him on the activity register.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Lou

Did the breeder give you a pedigree? You can look up the parents on the KC health check pages which will tell you if they are registered.

If the parents are registered contact the kennel club and see if they will tell you if the litter was registered. Do you have any documents to say he would be registered?
Trading standards may be worth calling as may the breeder's local council depending how many pups she has.

Unfortunately seeing the parents pedigrees does not necessarily mean they are KC registered, so its possible they aren't. As suggested your best course of action is to contact the KC as long as you know the parents names.

I doubt she will register your dog if he gets to be over 12 months as it costs a small fortune !!. Much cheaper to do as puppies , i left one of mine unregistered that i bred myself then got into agility , got a shock when tried to register him on the breed register so did him via the activity register instead .

If you "only" want to do agility or obedience ,not breed beauty classes, you can register the dog yourself on a separate kc register,no problem at all.Give the kc a ring and they will put you straight.
