Equita is now home i went to visit her at the hydrotherepy yestaday and she was in the spar wen i arrived so i went on in and was shocked at how poor she looked i know she was there to help heal her leg wound but her eyes were all crusted up her nose was dirty and she looked like she had ,had a dust bath, but i thought to my self oh well as long as the leg is healing and she is comfortable thats all that counts so i walked down to the stable for the man to dress the wound(who may i add knows very little about what he was doing as it is his daughter who runs the hydrtherepy as a rule but she is going traveling) (i only just found this out)firstly he tied her to the bars on the stable "quoting" she wont pull back

then he unravelled some cotton wool and placed it directly on to the open wound, which was when i said you cant do that it will stick to it but he replyed it,s ok it will help it breath!!!
ooo.gif
i then watched her on the walker feeling very unhappy about going home and leaving her here i got into my car and called my vet explaning how unhappy i was to be paying top rates for a bad service and telling them what had gone on... they said get her out of there as the dressing is as much a vital part of healing as the hydrotherepy so i went home and aranged with new YO for her to come early

nshe is so hapy i have redressed it my self now and she looks shiny and is back to her old self just cant beleave how much i spent and hope nothing bad hapened to her that i dont know about...Thanks 4 looking

That is a bit dodgy, they should close for the time she is traveling if they don't have someone experienced and qualified to run it.

Really glad Kee home to the new yard but sorry about the therapy place not looking after her right. You must be so pleased she is home! Has she settled into new yard straight away?

Have you any updated photos of the wound? oes is still produce a lot of proud flesh?

Oh my god, poor keets. you MUST complain. Write it all down and get your vets support. What a disgusting service. Well done you for being so loyal to your mare and visiting her all the time. So glad she is home now. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

I thought it was a bit bizarre they wouldnt let her wear a rug in the spa.

Well done for taking her away, I hope the vets dont recommend the yard to anyone else

Hi,

we have just set up a recuperation and therapy centre and no there are no rules or regulations that you have to follow.

In order to protect ourselves and also to offer our owners piece of mind we have set up a CCTV system so that the owners can log in over the internet and see their horse in their stables.

I would certainly tell your vet about the incident as places that don't have a high enough standard need to be identified.

Hope your horsey is happy back home.

Oh poor u and bad dressings are very bad for bigger wounds (as I'm also finding out!!). Well she's happy now and in good hands. Hope she finishes healing very soon!!!

HI again thanks all for looking yeah she has settled in extreamly well soo pleased vet is coming to day to give me some more dressings i,ll post some pics later ...she is shiny again and has a smile on her pretty lil face x
