off to the vets tomorrow am, to remove some lumps from Daisys neck and one from her tummy. the tummy one is probably a fatty lump, but the ones in her neck are harder... the vet hasnt let on anything but is acting swiftly, she only went in yesterday to have them looked at. Im sure they will be fine, but please send my girl some good luck vibes, shes been with me as long as Ebony was and im refusing to even think of any possible negative outcomes at the moment.

thank you all, really trying to focus on positivity... but Im also aware that there is a smaller lump right next to the more developed one... so that is a worry, hopefully they can whip it out and its benign, its been caught early and they are going to do the one on her tummy since she is already going to be under otherwise they wouldnt bother from the feel of it. We are in there at 8.15 am and im going to hang around and have a coffee or two, then take her home as soon as she starts to come round as she really hates the vets and we dont want her stressed. Shes had a few generals in her days as she has a knack of cutting her sides while playing rough and tumble, but its a worry I dont want to face losing her too. She is just as special to me as my other girl was, I hate even the idea that she may be poorly or getting old:(

Should get biopsy results from my dogs lumps today - vet already told me she doesn't think it's good. Fingers crossed for you and Daisy today - the waiting is the hardest part- fingers crossed for us both xxx

Fingers crossed for you xxx she's being operated on now, I felt like a right cow leaving her... Looking at her you would think it was worlds end!:(. Vets as always were lovely and are going to ring as soon as they are out so I can set off to get her. She isn't going to have blood tests done because they know because of the location these need to come out, then they should (depending on what they look like) go to histology. Only worry is that the head vet felt the lumps and said ' umm yes they do feel different'. They are really hard so not like a fatty lump, and initially I thought cyst but there is another smaller lump too so I just don't know... Not long now and will have a bit better idea what we may be dealing with xxx

You have had a really rotten time with losing Ebony, I followed that post and was willing her to pull through. Fingers crossed for your skinny dog, vets like to get on top of these things before they become a problem so dont worry she will be fine.

Hope daisy dog is ok Em, me and Rosie spaniel are routing for her! :)
Thank you hunny xxx hope Rosie feeling better too, saw she has had a phantom :( bless her xx
Fingers, toes, legs, paws, hooves crossed x
Thank you :)

Yes I'm sure she will be fine, still no call from the vets yet though, will relax more once I've spoken to them and know she's ok, or at least know what we are dealing with.
Fingers crossed for Ebony and licks from Boots (another pointy dog) x
It's daisy that's ill, Ebony was the mare I lost earlier this year, but thank you :)

I'm sure she will be fine, lots of dogs have cysts and they can increase in number, the older the dog gets.

Well they rang, bless her she has been through the mill, the lumps are right in the thyroid, cutting it away from the thyroid was not a possibility. Not cyst like sadly, although still not panicking yet until the test results are back. The 'smaller' lump was actually not smaller, just tucked further back so you couldn't feel it. They have removed the one lump along with one half of the thyroid, this is going of to histology by express courier so it can be seen before the weekend, more because they don't want to compromise the sample by having it sat there unseen until Monday. If the results are not good then they will go in again and remove the other half of the thyroid and start her on thyroxin, if the sample is benign then we will leave the remainder of the thyroid plus lump no 2 in place. She is a sleepy bunny... Sat next to me on the sofa, initially when they rang they said because it was way more invasive than they expected, they wanted her in until four... 20mins later I had a call, she had come round and was whining for England, so we didn't want her to stress and I picked her up. She's on some hefty pain meds and now we just wait on the test results. Thank you all for your vibes and supportive words, I will keep you updated with the results:)

Glad she is home. I always have to bring mine home before properly awake as he stresses so much at the vets. I'm sitting still waiting for a call from the vet - biopsy results are back but receptionist won't tell me. Hope Daisy is ok and you have good news xx

Not good news for my boy Jasper malignant and invasive tumours in his mouth:( we will keep him going while he is happy and pain free (he is a mad springer), and will let him tell us when it's time. Really hoping you have better news for Daisy - keeping everything crossed for you xx

Yes I was going to pick her up initially before she had come round properly, but the surgery was so invasive they wanted to monitor her, but when she started whining the place down they called me straight away best interest to stop her stressing... She is absolutely wiped out... Freaked out a bit when she started huffing and puffing, then fell into a really deep sleep... Didn't look like she was breathing... She was but it was then that I cracked and sobbed my heart out :(.
