I know its not really possible but any hints and tips to keep hairy piebald clean before a show who I cant stable. First proper show and I plan to wash him Friday night and I have a water proof fly rug but wondering if I should buy a no fill rug instead? Any other suggestions that I can do other than bathing him again in the morning. He loves a good roll especially when he knows he is clean.

Just accept you will need to spot wash in the morning…

I tend to use a fly rug or turnout, weather dependant, but hocks and neck might still need some touch ups.

Though as long as yours isn’t like mine and likes to mountaineer through the muck awaiting spreading, you’ll probably have less to do than me ??.

Yes this was the night before the show I’d just washed her for ?, and yes that is ‘princess I can’t eat hay off the floor’ Skylla eating hay out of the muck ??‍♀️??‍♀️.

LW turnout with neck if the night is cool enough. Plait/tie up tail somehow maybe? That just leaves the legs to wash again in the morning. When I was younger and did such things, I got up super early on show day and did all the prep then.
