my yearling colt has been put on box rest for 3 weeks hes done his splint so is lame on front hes been a good boy up to now altho only on second day iv put my daughters quiet pony in with him but hes looking bored iv been hanging carrotts around stable etc any idead of other homemade toys that would keep him entertained i dont want him becoming naughty through it

my 21month old filly has a boredom ball with nuts in and she plays for hours with it, it cost about £20 but well worth the money

he has adlib hay and a handfull of chop and beet at night i have some sweet jars i was thinking of hanging them up with bits of turnip and carrott in for him prob just me panicking over him

i used to tie a sweed up in Lucys stable (a bit like a licket is hung from the roof away from the walls). It will take him a while to eat it (unless like Lucy he works out if he chews through the bailer twine the sweed will fall to the grownd and then it takes no time at all to eat

) I also used to hang milk bottles (plastic ofcourse) with small holes in the bottom. I filled it with nuts and Lucy had to knock it around and the nuts would fall out the holes.
