Hi all!!

My horse has just been put into his first set of bar shoes and pads in front to help with very slight soreness from thin soles and I'm looking for tips on how to keep them on. He is always worked and turned out in overreach boots (i have 100's of pairs). I know to double up with normal size and XL size using the rubber ones, i have neoprene ones, i even have used the acavallo gel ones (which were rubbish). When i gaffa taped in the past it just ended up around his fetlocks so looking for some other really helpful tips to keep his new kicks on! This is the first time ive had a horse needing to be shod like this so just trying to prevent any foot damage and pissing my farrier off ?.

Thanks in advance :).

Mines a bugger for murdering overreach boots! I was going through a rubber pair a week last summer. I now turn out (and use for riding) the Horze neoprene probell boots. They’re about £10 a pair (although on sale at the moment). They’re thick and really durable!

Woof Wear Ultra Overreach Boots are the only ones that work with mine. Don't think I would ride in them but certainly great for turn out - if a bit pricey.....!

Mine has a cheap pair of over reach boots that are too big and so far touch wood he hasn’t wrecked them or pulled the shoe off. This is his first set
