keeping dogs on leads

Don’t like heights and not a fan of deep water. One of my dogs drowned (a deliberate act by a scumbag) and a rescued one had jumped out of a second storey window. If in doubt, keep on the lead!

Maybe 'regularly' is the wrong word but my parents puppy walked 17 guide dog puppies over the years and it was certainly something that was brought up as a 'warning' time and time again.

Seems like a spectacularly daft thing to do. I've never heard of it TBH.
Oldie one of my old GSDs was able to jump cattle grids in one go, even when old and fat. I didn't train it, she just did it one day, I was shocked! I use stuff like that to proof environmental soundness, I was forever running my older dog over strange surfaces when he was a puppy.

My little midget dog defies gravity over cattle grids - she seems to speed up and just scuttles across them without even a slip of the paw. It's like watching the bendy spoon trick looking at her little blurry legs

Yep. If my Mali x is upstairs, all windows are closed. Just another ‘fear’ of mine🥴😀 There is book I own called ‘The Gift of Fear’ - it is my bible.😀

Last year (or maybe the year before) I read of a greyhound which escaped from a new home by jumping through a closed downstairs window.....I couldn’t quite explain that one! He wasn’t wearing any collar or tags, but thankfully he was retrieved after a long search

My lurcher used to climb out of the upstairs window, stand on the outside sill then scuttle vertically down the brick wall. I had no idea that was how she was getting out until I saw it with my own eyes. The only time she fell was when I saw her set off from the window sill and shouted no, she landed in a heap on the flower bed. no harm done - I didn't need those extra ten years of my life.
