My horse has had a small pea sized sarcoid on his flanks for about 2 or 3 years, in the last 6 months it has grown in size slightly, but is still relatively small & not in an area that gets irritated. (Vet has seen it & advised to leave it as not causing any problems)
However he seems to be developing some warty/sarcoid like growths along his sheath & in this heat the flies just don't stay away.
I do not want to treat as he is having a last summer due to health problems so don't want to interfere, if they develop further I will just make the hard decision to bring the date further forward.
My question is, what can I use to keep the flies away without irritating the area? Normal fly spray doesn't seem to be working which is understandably irritating him, tho I can poke/prod/touch the area & don't get any reaction so I don't think it is particularly uncomfortable/sore as it is. Is there a cream I could use that won't irritate the area?
Thanks

I used 'Summer fly cream' on my lad when he had a sarcoid on his chest - it was a yellow cream in a white tub - I can't remember who makes it but you should be able to google it.
