I went to bed last night and fell asleep to the sound of horses munching and this was the view from my bedroom window this morning. I love the summer when the horses are next to the house. Doesn't the chestnut look great for 28, he's made such a good recovery from his cellulitis. Mr B is starting to look a bit porky though!

This is my dream! Currently looking into if I can rent a property with stables that I've seen as unfortunately buying is not an option currently. They both look wonderful and happy :)

I love having my horses at home! The best thing is when I get up in the morning feeling a bit down and then see the view from the bathroom window of the horses grazing on the hill outside. Lifts my spirits straight away!
I'd never have guessed from that picture that your chestnut is that age!

I love it til it all kicks off, and I can't get away! 4am squawking and thundering around is my personal non-fave!
Mostly, it's heaven!

I have only had mine at home for 8 months and it makes it so much easier.
Love seeing her little face looking over her stable door.

Aww, beautiful! Can't wait to have my boy at home have just bought a property with land and will be moving in next year!!

Me, me .. I can join this club :D Boy isn't home yet though, he will be beginning of July and I cant see the stables from the window but they are just through that gap there >>>> and down the side of that paddock >>> and then I can see my stables and paddocks :D

I'm just so excited. I've been painting the inside of my stables over the last couple of days and got my hay delivered today. I cant wait for those lazy evening walks with the dog down to the stables just because I can and just because I want to see him :)

I love looking out of my window in the morning and seeing my little herd in the fields. Even my OH who isn't a bit horsey says he loves seeing them looking so contented in the mornings. I hadn't seen them today at all as they had decided to go into my top fields and because the trees are all in full leaf I can't see them up there in the summer. Just about to go out and walk up and they all filed one behind the other through the gate and back where I can see them. Good ponies.

I rent an equestrian property and rent out my semi so I am still on the property ladder. The extra for the bigger property is roughly the same as it would cost me to keep my two on assisted livery. Well I had two at the time - now I have 7...

I feel my one won't stay one for long! It's dangerous now I have land and stables. Paying livery for two was out of the question before so I was controlled ..... now I need to use self control and I doubt that will happen!

Love it in summer when they're out.
Throw open the bedroom window every morning and shout good morning to them. Good job we have no close neighbours!

it's not so much fun when you hear hooves on the drive at 3 in the morning and have to go out in your dressing gown, find a bucket of feed and tempt them back into their field. :)
But most of the time it's lovely.

Ohh Yes! This. We had door banging and neighing all night a few nights at first. I really could have cried and was wondering what the heck we had done!
In general, now they are settled its lovely although i do worry my older horse seems some days to stand at the gate all day long. I used to think his body clock just told him feed times hence he'd be at the gate when i arrived.

Mine no longer get treat balls for this reason!

One thing that astounded me was the fat net that I put in at 6 could be finished by 11 - totally changed my way of feeding

After too many years of having to walk on eggshells and kiss @rse to various psychopathic YO's, as well as run the gauntlet of all the Yard Bitches, it was incredibly refreshing to finally settle into our own place when we moved here in 1992. It just felt unbelievable.

So OK there was an awful lot of work to do, the place was very rundown, there was some old and tumbledown cattle housing which needed desperate re-vamping, and the fields were over-run with thistles, BUT, tho' it has taken a good few years, we have finally got a place now which we're happy with!! Not that there isn't room to be improving, coz there's always something needing doing.

But it is lovely to be able to work from home and pop out to see what the Neds are up to, and see them chomping away on a lovely field, surrounded by sheep, or sheltering from the flies under the big oak tree in the middle of their field. Or in the winter, to pop out on a foul night and hear the regular munching as they are all tucked up warm and cosy.

We can do as we please, when we please, how we please, and no-one to tell us we shouldn't! Plus it is lovely not to have to get the car out and turn-out in the freezing weather to go "do" the horses; they are here, on hand, and it is soooo easy!

They just feel so much more part of the family when they live at home with you :)

You just can't beat it!
