Hi
Apart from Lunging my horse, any ideas on how to keep my horsey fit. had an accicent 2 weeks ago and told not to ride for 4-6 weeks - bummer!!
She goes a tad mental on the lunge rein, but I have a feeling that this is going to be my only option.

Can you loose school? She might be nutty for the first couple of minutes but you wouldn't be being towed around and she might well then settle into it

Apart from lunging and maybe a friend riding her, i don't think there's many other choices. Or you could try loose jumping/schooling or something like that if you've got access to an indoor school.

Thanks for that, she is very good at lunging just gets excited, probably as she has so much energy! I will go up this afternoon and see how she is, I take it it is ok to do this in an outdoor school - indoor one is being used as a rather large stable due to crap weather up here (scotland)
Thanks again

Charlie goes bananas on the lunge sometimes so what I do is this:

Start off long reining, and once hes settled, i gradually move towards the centre of the school and just lunge as normal but with 2 lines. the outside one either round his bum or over his back (if he's got the roller on). This way if he did go nuts i would have a little bit more control over him. it also helps me keep him out as he has a habit of creeping into the middle!
