I have 14 rosettes from various shows I did with the horse I used to share. I've decided that it's probably time to take them down as I've not been sharing the horse since December (owners choice not mine.) I don't want them out as rosettes, but I don't want them in a box to be forgotten about. They're too pretty and they remind me of good times! I don't think I have enough for one of those cushion covers, so does anyone else have any ideas?

I like the look of them in a picture frame. Always looks smart and decorative and "horsey" lol

I am sorry, I have all the rosettes I have ever won, a huge bag and two boxes, that OH complains about me keeping.

We have been through "why not just keep the affilliated ones" or "why not just keep the red ones" but whenever I see them I am transported back, 40 years worth, from the very first "Special" rosette for the walk trot canter lead, to the first ones where I had my own pony, to sunny days and hunter trials in the rain, I can remember the horses and the friends.

No rosette can be binned, they are all very dear to me. The green ones, the care for a pony day ones, all of them.

I am obviously a hoarder!

At least i do not display them, apart from one very dear, hard one, that cost blood and tears and joy, from Blair, that is in a frame, as equi suggests.

This is excatly me! :D

The major ones (Championship ones) I keep on show, but the everyday ones are in boxes. Each box with the horses name on it.

Every now and again I will look at them especially the ones of the horses that are no longer with me.

Me too, I have the very old ones in a box, the newer "varies" colours in the tack room and the red, blue and higher at home. I won them. I keep them .....they are displayed between the OH golf wins. They are what keep me going between the varies issues that horsey people deal with......dare I use the word.........saddle! Oh for an easy to fit horse.

At my old DIY stables, I found two huge boxes stuffed full of rosettes - the owner of the rosettes must have been prolific in competing - left behind. I know it's daft, but I found it quite sad😥

I've only been in the biz for two years, so i have a nice small collection all pinned to a cork board

Me too!! Have loads in the wagon and loads in a bag upstairs! My OH complains as well even though many are his!

I m another who cant bare to part with any - they were pinned on tackroom rafters at each of our farms over the last 30 odd years , so now have boxes of old cobwebbed and faded ones, plus the last 4 seasons in our latest tackroom ie 4 rafters draped.
Rossettes are a fantastic reminder of past horses and very happy times.
I recently saw at a framers a lovely box frame with invisible glass to show off rossettes - looked amazing!

I have all of mine from the last 20 odd years! Some are on strigs or corkboards round my walls, others are in boxes. All the ones I have won from online photo shows are in boxes as even though there are spectacular rosettes in amongst them they don't feel as though I have won them if you know what I mean?

I love the box frame idea. The owners decision was so sudden to stop sharing, I feel as though I'm grieving him as I never really got to say a proper goodbye... I think I might make a box frame with a few favourite pictures in the middle and the rosettes round the outside. When I get my own and move in with my partner on the farm Ill hang it in my tack room to remind me of the good times :)

When my children where small we went out practically every weekend with our pony, rosettes were displayed for a week and then replaced by next weeks, special ones went up in a display cabinet for a year. Now every single one from clear round to championships are in boxes, complete with plastic trophies, twenty years of memories in are not really taking up that much space.

I have kept all my rosettes, most recent ones on display. Old ones, some 44 years old are bagged up. I get them out now and then ( my mum wrote all details on back on them) and remember old times :)

I had all mine hanging round the picture rail in my room (and some started to creep downstairs) just redecorated my room and had to take them all down ,I was disgusted by how dusty they were on the backs, I had no idea it was that bad! I feel sad chucking them all in a box, but I don't think I can have them up like that again.
A mate suggested I get a big glass display case or something and fix that to the wall- would stop them getting faded too

I have kept every rosette that was ever won over nearly 50 years, all with the horse's name and the date on the back. I love my rosettes........or at least I did, until my very naughty jersey cow got into the tack room and proceeded to EAT, or gum, or drool over 90% of them. Protect your precious memories! (Frame sounds good, and cow-proof).

I have the kids' rosettes on cork-type boards... but I can see a point when we might run out of wall. No way will I throw them but I might have to start putting older ones in boxes.

I didn't have a pony as a child but occasionally got the chance to take part in a riding school show. I still gave these rosettes 30 odd years on!

Me too. I have kept every rosette that my pony and horses have won. They are all in an underbed drawer, except this years ( now mostly fun rides )which are hung up in the kitchen until New Year. Mine go back to the 60's and include commemorative ones for the Queens Silver Jubilee. They still remind me of good times.

I also have 40 yrs worth of rosettes and cups/ trophies. At the end of the season I box them up & rarely look at them again. Reading this, I'm now thinking of taking a red one from each horse & having them framed, maybe with photos of the horses too :)

Me too, a Silver Jubilee Show, at Millview Riding School in Sheffield. I borrowed a school horse called Bracken and did the fancy dress, wearing red devil costume with forked tail and 3 pronged fork. Memories, could not throw them away!

Another who keeps every one, some in boxes, some hanging up and some in the glass cabinet (much better than ornaments!) I live in the hope that one day I will have a huge tack room all to myself and I will pin them all up on walls and beams..

I keep them all. I write the date, class, name of horse and their age at the time on the back of each one. I had them all displayed on a cork board but it hasn't gone up since we moved housed 5 years ago. My friend has all hers in a frame behind glass at the top of her stairs, they look lovely :)

Sometimes it seems the smaller the show the bigger the rosette. When a lot of these shows are run for charity I wonder why they spend so much on the ribbons. A lot of people really don't care about the rosette. Sad, I know. A local venue gives a free cuppa or a rosette!
I know rosettes are often sponsored, but perhaps the sponsor could be persuaded to give more to the charity, and keep the rosettes a bit more petite.
Having said that we've staple gunned all ours to chipboard and they make up a wall in the tack room. Hope we never move.

I have kept all of mine and all the childrens rosettes. They have the date, horses name and class on the back. I haven't had to say good bye to either of our horses yet, but then the time comes I will still have the rosettes and the memories. I have also kept all my dressage sheets in a lever arch file for the same reason. The rosettes are currently in a box but it may be nice to have some of them out on display.

I have nearly 50 years worth in bags at the bottom of my wardrobe, they are one of my most treasured possessions, especially the very small and tatty green one that reads Bundle, Bending Race, 1971.
