Well, as you may have guessed, i had a FANTASTIC day!!!!!!
Got there, walked the course, and although it was a decent size and a reasonably technical course, i didnt like it, because it was very short, and very twisty and there were loads of combinations which came up sooooo thick and fast. With no space to gallop. so it didnt suit belvedere at all! and i knew the time would be hard to achieve!
Got on, walked down to the dressage! he was warming up very sweetly, then someone collided with me, neither persons fault i hasten to add,,just one of those things, and the horse turned its arse and kicked me right in the ankle very hard. Luckily my stirrup took most of the blow, and it didnt get belvedere. But i was not amused when this person then blamed me for her horse kicking me!! gah, anyway,,went over to do the test, and he was lovelly, felt like a lovelly test, both of his counter canters were fab, his rein back, he did one step and then said no, but ahwell!
turns out,,i got 33!!! my best ever score BE with him. was very pleased! got 8 and 7 for counter canters, 8 for one of my meidums,,various 7's and 8's and a TWO for the rein back (fair enough). it wasnt a kind judge either,,just normal, there were plenty of scores in the 40's and 50's.
Onto the showjumping,,,urgh, showjumping showjumping showjumping!!!! it was causing a lot of problems. and if you look at the scores you can see a lot of 16's, 12's, 8's and 4's!!! poor belvedere,,is now traumatised, he was basically kicked and attacked in dressage warm up, then while i was standing watching the sj, someone smashed into him, so for the rest of the day, whenever he passed another horse, he tensed up, shied sideways and shot forwards because he was scared of them. my poor baby! i hope he will forget it all soon!
anyway, the SJ, he did an AMAZING round. absolutely FOOT PERFECT! and CLEAR! i couldnt believe it!!!!!!!!
i was then terrified for the XC, i didnt want another gatcombe to happen!!!!! he popped one and two very well, then three was a simple step up to reasonable size skinny - ish fence, we had a misunderstanding at the step, and he fell up it, he was then like on his face, and understandably he tried to evade the jump, but i was not gonna let that happen, so i pulled him right, and made him jump it from a halt, and he is such an honest horse, that he literally climbed over it. cue lots of pats and "good boy's". bless him!! then he flew round the rest of the course! but because i wanted to make sure i went clear, and the course was twisty, i wasted some time, and we got 3.6 time pens!!! but i was not suprised by that at all!!!
so double clear, finished on 36.6, by far my best result with him. absolutely extatic!
and OMG, we came 4th!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and i know some of you get loads of points and think they arnt anything special, but i havnt got any before, and now i have three (belv total of 8)!! sooo happy, my first points with him, and means a lot!!! i LOVE my horse! he can do it, and hes so awsome bless him!!!! i have never even been placed BE with him.,,and now 4th!!!
