Me and my little crossbreed headed off to KCI this week. He managed to qualify for the Starters cup final but was struggling with the Aluminium contacts so I spent Saturday practicing contacts anywhere in could. We got into the main ring and managed to come 6th as he ran off after a nice smell so have qualified for discover dogs in October. Very exciting! So pleased with him as he has just won up to grade 3 so we will never be able to do this again.
Looking proud after his class

Thanks for reading

Well done! We were there Thursday for the Novice cup, but not to be for us this year, but my terrier had gone up through default via my collie, though yesterday won into G4.

Hoping for next year! Enjoy DD, my friend qualified last year and then won (mediums) and won the most beautiful trophy.

Wish Id listened to my trainer and styed in G2 lol

I'm with you there sam-b. I managed to win into Grade 4 a couple of weeks ago, not looking forward to learning the grade 4/5 courses, my brain won't cope! :(

I've just spent the last four days there as well. Congratulations! I had a mixed show, she handled beautifully, she's grade 7 and because at KCIF a lot of the classes are individual grades the grade 7 courses were often quite fiddly, lots of pull throughs, but she was really switched on and listening and handled the courses really well. On the other hand... she jumped almost all her dog walk contacts! Despite a few runs on Thursday in the practice ring where she didn't miss one! So frustrating! A good show though. Glad all that went enjoyed it and congratulations!

Congratulations.

I've just got back from KCIAF too, I only managed 1 clear round this year a 4th place from my grade 3, my grade 5 thought it was more fun visiting trade stands!!! I qualified for the Novice Cup a few years ago and went to Crufts.

Well done. :D

Us mere mortals are still plugging away at the ABC qualifiers, unplaced clears every time, maybe one day!

Gave KCIAF a miss this year, 300+ dogs to a large G3 class is no fun for a steady but accurate ABC dog, I prefer a smaller show. I'd already made the decision to move her up to G4 on points to get out of the up-and-down blast G1-3 classes and into something more handle-y, the contrary madam won a G3 agility the following week. Seems I'm the only one looking forward to moving up :p
