Kennel Club Name.

We have just got our 1st Cavalier and she is brill!!!! Settled in really well. Cats not too sure!!! One is terrified of her!!!. We have all the Kennel Club information for her. But we are not 100% keen on her name. We won't be using it for showing or breeding so I suppose it doesn't really matter too much. But would prefer a "nicer" name. Does anyone know if we have all the info if we are allowed to change the name. So long as there are not others with the same name? Just wondering.

I don't really like my dogs KC name (best of a bad bunch!), but she is not shown or known by it so it doesn't bother me TBH. Our old lab Windsor KC name was Killyleagh Beach Boy which just suited him down to the ground

I'm afraid that once the name has been registered with the KC - you will not be allowed to change it. The only thing you can do is add your own affix which you an choose ( although you will have to pay for this (e.g. Blahblah Dark Magic at <u>Paddy Paws</u> ) -even if your don't want t do this ( and there is no real need to if you don't want to show or breed from her), don't forget to transfer her into your name or she will still be registerd with the KC as being owned by her breeder - look at the KC website for details of how to do this.

you cannot change it, you can buy an affix for apporx 70 pounds and an annual fee as well, dont bother, you are not a breeder so no point. Did you not sign a contract with the breeder or did /she not explain about the KC?
