An absolute disgrace. How can you forget a dog in a vehicle, especially on a hot day, when animal welfare should be second nature when you run a kennels. Poor Luna and her owners.
Absolutely agree. This is utterly, utterly appalling. I can't understand how you could just "forget" an animal in your care. I know it's not the same but I used to work as an SJ groom and I had an unfailing memory for which horses were in my care, who was in what field with who, who had been brought in/ was still to come in. I just don't understand this.

I'm usually one to err on the side that people can make mistakes and shouldn't have their lives ruined over it kinds thing. But honestly in this case I'd sue the @rse off them for negligence and do my best to make sure no dog was put at risk in the kennels' care again.

Judging by the local reaction I'd say they'll not be in business too much longer.

Nothing deflects from what happened but the people responsible must be distraught.

Holy shit, I'm afraid they really do deserve to lose their business over that one. How do that lovely young couple ever get to celebrate their wedding anniversary knowing their wedding resulted in the death of their dog?

Things like this is why I'm absolutely terrified to hand my animals over to anybody to look after... even though statistically it would be so, so unlikely for anything to go wrong. I'm not sure I could cope with the level of hatred and resentment I would feel towards the person responsible ? An actual accident would be different, but the sheer incompetence and utter lack of care of "forgetting" the poor little thing in the van?

Bloody awful.

Truly shocking to read this…just terrible.

I feel the same about others looking after my animals - stories like this justify my paranoia if a professional kennel accidently kills someones pet!
I trialled a friend to feed 2 cats - full instructions and plenty of food for the duration left - when i returned half the food remained which should have been eaten if instructions were followed, so some days they didnt bother turning up to feed them ?
Another friend of vegan persuasion demanded i feed vegan dog/cat food while they are feeding them…? (sure…if youre happy to clear up sick and sloppy sh*ts daily mate ?)
So we either take them with us…impossible….or holiday at home! We’re exploring the possibility of trusted hous—sitters as they tend to be genuine experienced animal-lovers, treating them as their own etc..

That's just awful, totally sickening. That poor couple, it's ruined what should be such a happy day.

I read this earlier and felt like crying. That poor, poor dog.
A fairly local home dog boarder has just had their license removed after a video emerged of them kicking and hitting a dog in their care. The video had been uploaded be an ex boyfriend of the woman running the daycare. She is being investigated.

What is wrong with people??
