Kent people- Anyone doing the Primrose Endurance Ride on Sunday?

Long shot, but I’m going on my own some, and just wondered if anyone else was going? I don’t mind doing it my own but always nice to have company.
 
Haven't heard about it. But I'm still new to all this, although looking for fun things to do. What/where etc is it?
 
Looks good. That is certainly the sort of thing Rosie and I would like to do, although we're probably not ready yet (I guess). We've hacked out 3 times so far, maximum 2 miles approx. It was quite hilly and she managed well. We only trotted a little at one point when she was spooked by something. I haven't cantered her out hacking yet, worried I may not get her back :)

She definitely likes hacking out in company and settled down well on Saturday with the gelding we walked out with.

Also, not sure how she would be after a trailer ride from Maidstone to Canterbury, she was a little sweated up when she was 'delivered', but her owner had got lost finding our yard.

I won't be doing that one as I'm recovering from injury and hence my horse isn't fit enough. I was hoping to do Wye but again it's just that little too soon to expect him to cope with it. There are loads of rides on this year HollyB66.
The ones I can think of off the top of my head are
Wye (east kent ride) on 11th April
Blossom ride on 18th April at Molash
Iden ride on 3rd May at Iden near Rye, East Sussex
and then later in the year there is Postling ride which is in September and also the GreatChart Happy hack in August. There are loads of others too,but I can't recall when they are at the moment.
 
I’m also doing the Wye Ride, Blossom Hill, West Kent Ride, Ride for Life (Maidstone RC) and Postling so far, and there will probably be more. So hopefully will see you out and about. :)
 
last year was my first year out and about for Candy.We did Wye, Iden and Postling last year. I'm hoping to do the Blossom one on 18th April as hopefully with a month to go he will be able to cope fine by then. Jobo if you've never done the Iden one I highly recommend it as it is a bit different to the normal ones with more testing obstacles such as steps,ditches and banks and a narrow foot bridge.You don't have to do them as there are ways around all of them but it's a great test of courage for the horse and rider.
 
Ha ha! Just did a search on Primrose as I'm doing the Endurance Training Ride this Sunday.

I didn't remember posting on this thread a year ago - but since then I have done a few Endurance Training Rides and have met JoBo :D

So, anyone else doing the Primrose Endurance Training Ride this Sunday?
 
Sadly not! I have to work instead. I have booked time off for Wye but it's looking likely I can't do that either as nobody wants to go with me (. I was also hoping to do the Blossom ride but my friends horse is recovering from Lymphangitis so that is probably unlikely as well!
 
Spike123 - i would love to do Wye again, but sadly live in Sussex now - its just a bit too far. Hope you find someone to go with :-)
 
Thanks Polly1976. It is really frustrating when you want to go and do things but have a relatively green horse who hasn't been out to fun rides for a couple of years and so need company,yet nobody wants to go!
 
Hi Spike, where and when is Wye and Blossom?

My mate has had to pull out of Primrose tomorrow as her cat is poorly:( so if anyone can send prayers or vibes that would be good.

Wye is 10th April and Blossom on 17th April. Then there is Iden on 2nd May which is another great one to do. There is also one in June. Think it's called Tillingham valley ride which is relatively new. I intend to do the Greatchart one this year. I have said that for the past 3 or 4yrs but so far never been able to make it!
 
I did Wye 2 years ago and loved it, couldnt do it last year as had no one to go with and I dont have a horse at the moment but I shall aim for next year.
