Has anybody ever used keratex hoof putty? Had the vet out for my 2 year old the other day after he was awfully lame. Hoof tested and pop! An abscess, so vet made a drainage hole and hot poulticed for two days and left him in. Pus stopped so I switched to dry poultice as per vets advice, and put him back out in the field. I don’t have a poultice boot and he’s just wearing through everything I put on his foot! (Poultice, cotton padding, vet wrap, duct tape, amazon bag ?)
I have some of that hoof putty, has anybody ever tried it for protecting the hole? I worry about putting it on and it trapping anything in.

I've used a few - not sure i've tried Keratex - but found the red horse stuff and would now never use anything else. It stays put forever and it has antibacterial properties. They have different products for different size/shape hole so you can have a browse on their website to see what you think you need.
