After having mine xray the other day it turns out it is a keratoma and he will have to be op on in a further date. It's very clear on the xrays. Im so glad we done them now my pocket not lol!! The keratoma is pressing on the pedal bone which isnt good!!

I was only alware of this a few months back when my new farrier show me it and said about getting it xray. After paying out for the other two lot's xrays for the sidebone I had to wait till now to get them done.

Now waiting to hear back when and where he will be going for the operation. Im bit worried over it all. Alteast now we know why his got such a strech white line on the outer part of that foot and why he kept getting abscess!!! Plus that foot such a odd shape!!

Have anyone's horse gone though the op??
 
A lady at my old livery yard had this happen to her horse. The keratoma was inbetween the hoof wall and the pedal bone. The front section of his hoof wall was cut away so that it could be removed. Once healed (plus the hoof had regrown) he returned to full work. :)

Thanks for this made me feel a bit more happy now about him having the op.
