I use kevin bacon on my boys feet, seems to work very well for them. It's only drawback is that it seems to go very hard in winter/ cold so it's difficult to get actually onto the feet!
Other than keeping it in the house (not sure OH would approve) anyone have any good suggestions for keeping it soft enough to actually use.
Hopefully someone more imaginative than me will have found something to mix into it!

I thought Kevin Bacon was a 1980's movie star? Currently advertising 4G mobile services? I did wonder what he might be doing with your horse's feet!

Well seeing as he is somehow related to everything and every one.. Maybe he knows the daughter of the woman who's sisters dad's uncle makes something to soften the formula?!

ha ha, when my friend first recommended it a couple of years ago i assumed she was having a senior moment and had got the name mixed up with the movie star - perhaps he manufactures it as a sideline for when he's not in a film!!

I've just gone from the liquid to the paste! :p Farrier told me the paste stays on better in winter with the mud, which makes sense as it is thicker. However, my OH doesn't have a problem with me storing stuff at home.

Thanks, fingers is a good idea - although I've got the black version so not sure the nails would look so great! Either that or keeping it indoors, but we do have alot of farming junk in the house already and I'm always moaning at OH for tractor parts in the house so more compromise maybe!

There are two types of tubs, white for summer and black for winter - which doesn't go hard in the cold. We always switch between the two depending on the time of year.

this thread has only taught me one thing.....that it is impossible to find a photo of Kevin Bacon in a wintery scene anywhere on the internet! ;)
