I've ordered some of the hoof dressing.Got to put it on every day for a week to clean dry feet.
What do you guy's use? Is there any other stuff to use?

Absolutely fantastic stuff, it balances the moisture content in the hoof so they don't get too dy or too moist. My previous farrier recommended it to me and I have never used anything else - he even gave me half a tub of it to try and he never sold it to me - I get it from 4 dobbin as it is the cheapest I've found it!

one of the horses i muck out on a weekend had removed the lid from the tub outside her stable, and was rather enjoying licking it on sunday!!!

But I also use it for my horses hooves, fab stuff

It's a massive improvement now you can buy it in a tin with a brush in the lid. I used to hate it when it came like lard in a pot. It always used to go runny and leak in my tack box in the summer, and it's so much nicer to paint it on with a brush than use your fingers.

Anyway, as far as the product itself goes, it's the product every farrier seems to recommend.

Its brilliant stuff and yep the dogs do love it, a little JRT was being very daring and running around his feet licking up what had driped off!

I use the Kevin Bacon in a tin with a brush over the winter because its easier to use and the red pot with black lid in the summer when its easier to put on. I use an old paintbrush to brush it on. Its amazing stuff and has sorted 2 horses feet out completely.

It's fantastic stuff especially in dry weather, but as other people have said, horses and dogs will lap it up (one of my dogs ate a whole tin! It didn't seem to cause any problems but it was a very expenssive snack!).

For really serious cracking hoof problems (like we had last summer) I resort to Keratex hoof hardener, but you can't use both at the same time as the Keratex has to go onto clean hooves and the Kevin Bacon stuff is oil based.
